Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We’ve only toured the USS Iowa and the uss midway. Uss midway we got to tour a big portion of it, but that’s the only experience my sailor has had.

A little curious anyone else’s Sailor never been on a boat before? Cruise ship doesn’t count.

Here is the rating info card for MM. If you go on the site, there is more detailed info for the different opportunities available after a school.

For more info on your sailor’s career, you can search for NavyCOOL and enter their rate. Of course, these are estimates, and holds/delays/holidays/etc. can impact them, and some opportunities are not listed, but it will give you a better understanding of their job description and career opportunities.

Tabitha, I would very much love for you to keep us in your prayers. Thank you.

Sailormom18, I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine what you must be feeling. They do keep them extremely busy during boot camp, and in between school until stationed to their base. One thing I have learned with the Navy and I hear it's like this in most of the military is "Rush and Wait" I will be praying for you guys, your health, and your son. Hugs from another navy mama ♡
