Marybeth - done.  this is outrageous. Hopefully some heads are going to roll, and hopefully they will have the decency to not only refund the money those soldiers paid, but also will give them a voucher for a free flight in the future, AND a public apology.

Marybeth...this needs to be tweeted. I will never fly Delta if I ever have a choice.  That was a very bad business choice, surely an individual choice.  An individual who should be fired!  Unfortunately I do not have a twitter account.  But I've heard businesses hate twitter for that reason.

For Patriot's Point:  your sailor will get in free if in uniform.  Our son wore his uniform, plus he bought tickets for us for PP and Ft. Sumter at the ITT office, I think at a discount.  Even if not with a discount, it's nice to have the tickets in advance so you don't have to stand in line.  He also got a very good map of Charleston which had some coupons--and it was free!

We are only staying there Monday night after we get in from the airport.  Tuesday through Saturday night we will be at the Villas.  Now I wish I chose one more night.  I suppose Monday night will be quiet?????? (Don't you think?)  How far was it from the airport...I'm hoping 5 minutes.

Elizabeth - I pretty much got the same deal when I was visiting in December, like $60 a night at the radisson. It is a SUPER nice hotel and for the price we got i was shocked at how nice it was. It has been remodeled recently. The only thing I will caution you on is that breakfast is not included. I found that out the first day. Its like 6 or 7 bucks but you can get a 10% military discount on it if you tell them (but at that rate i saved less than a dollar on it haha) and if you have a room that overlooks the pool and atrium, be careful on the weekend. I was there friday night and checked out tuesday morning and saturday night was so annoying. they had a function going on from about 8-1...the music was sooooo loud. and yes my bf was still in indoc so i had to take him back to base before midnight each night but then when i got back i couldnt fall asleep for over an hour because of it. That is the only complaint i had. so see if you can get a room on the exterior not the interior. you will understand what i mean when you get there and see it.

I decided I better change my name on here and take off sons- A class #, since he will soon be starting power school.  I will put up another sun catcher pitcure when I get a good one of the new navy and gold design.  I like this photo of the 2 boys looking out to sea.  The words say   "Life is not easy and it will never be, but you've got friends and one of them is me."

Welcome back Dor.

Kat, is Patroitspoint where you tour the aircraft carrier?  Get tickets for it? and is that the Yorktown?  We are driving to GC next Monday and that is on my list of wants to do with our sailor.

Marybeth, So we here in MN have gotten together for lunch on occasion.  We could do a packing party here in MN at one of our gatherings?  Is the info and specifics on the MAS web site?

Patriot's Point: http://www.patriotspoint.org/

it was fun when my son took me all around the USS Yorktown, and was showing me the engine room and explaining some things he's learned (nothing top secret though).
