shipboard romances??

Posted on November 17, 2012 at 9:22am 3 Comments

I just wanted to know what the Navy policy is on dating?  Once they are on their way in their ship, can they date someone in the same rank?  I know they can't get off the ship, but are there places to hang out together in the ship?  I am sure I will be a bunch of e-mails on this one.  Thank you!!

questions on "after" boot camp

Posted on October 22, 2012 at 8:54pm 7 Comments

Hi.  My son is going to boot camp on 2/25/13.  I had a few questions, some dumb, some not so dumb.  First, after boot camp, they are moved to different barracks for the duration of their A school training, correct?  During boot camp lights out at 10 p.m. and lights on at 3:30 a.m.??  But after the 8 weeks of grueling work, they won't have to have that same schedule of getting up at 3:30 a.m., correct?  My son is studying to be a hull technician.  So after his schooling he will be assigned to…

I'm sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you.  Arrival and What Happens at the RTC includes links to videos about boot camp.  The video, Navy Racks - USS Sampson, will give you a glimpse into ship life once your future Sailor is in the fleet. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

I was reading a comment you made last month where you asked about the first pay check and did not get an answer.  Read When Will the Recruits be Paid? (clickable link) and that may answer your question.  Please do explore the site and continue to ask questions as you prepare for your son to ship out in a few months. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
