OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Comments on this page are for you. Others do not see them unless they happen by as I did actually by accident--or perhaps it was a God thing since you had questions that would not have been answered otherwise. To reply to a comment here, click on "Comment Back" or "View Thread" below the comment.

The Page, What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology), will help you with many of the new terms you will come across.

Hi Allhave not yet rsvped to sarge is meet and greet not sure what all the abbreviations are. I can't be given to many things to learn I then just shut down. My so called me last Saturday during my daughters wedding shower. He had not received are form even though I have now sent it 3 times and email through another office on base which was suppose to be the security off.
He also tells me he will be only able to call us the Wednesday to tell us if he is A Sailor. We will be driving there as funds are tight it's over a 10 hour drive. So if he does not pass it will be major. Not sure how I would find out from sister division as the other Mom tells me.
How much is Sarges meet and greet to attend and the hotel across from it or near base is better for us what do you think can you give me some names of hotels that will allow us to cancel if he does not graduate. We will have to stay the two night as Friday he graduates and then he gets liberty that day and hopefully flys back to east coast on Saturday morning or do they ship them out the same day they graduate?
Please if you could simplify your answers I would appreciate it as I have this learning disability
Thank you again for all your help

Divisions 281 and 282 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. Write to your recruit and ask when Battle Stations-21 (BST) will be so you will know when to expect the "I'm a Sailor!" call.
