Chris stationed?

Not yet. But he texted me this morning, after I asked if he was still gonna be there, in Pensacola, in November or December. He said no& that he'll be leaving early September. I hate this worry, I don't like it one bit. I'm just afraid that something will happen to him there. I nearly called in to work this morning because I started crying & didn't think I'd stop. What do you do to keep busy & not worry about your kids out there?

Navy Photos

My son graduated boot camp on June 1st.  He wasn't able to get his photos that were taken of him.  Does anyone know who I need to contact or if I can even get his photos?  Thanks for any advice/help!

PIR 1 June 2012 Video

We finally arrived at bootcamp graduation and boy was I happy to see my sailor!! He has matured over the past 2 months. What a transformation!

Just wondering if anyone video taped any of the ceremony.

I pray for our sailors as they make their way in this world. I know God has my son under His care and I pray He does for everyone else's son or daughter too!

God bless you all!

Signed,

One Proud Mama

He hasn't even left yet

My son leaves for boot camp 5 Mondays from tomorrow and I am sooo emotional. I go from crying my eyes out as if he were dying on July 2 to being excited for him and the decision he has made about his future. I've considered all of the positives about him being a NUKE in the Navy and yet I still look at it that my baby boy is leaving home and I will not get to see him like most parents do whose kids go off to college at this stage in their lives.

Not only am I having to deal with my…

This was a total surprise!

This was presented to me today by my husband's home command at the Family Readiness Day - I was totally surprised and had to try really hard not to cry during the presentation!

OCS Class 14-12 proud mom

Our  daughter is a pilot and her goal is to go to Pensacola for flight training after graduation. I am so proud of each of these brave men and women.  They are all awesome.

Thrilled mom of OCS 14-12

I just got a phone call and pictures.  What a grand day. Letters are wonderful and mean so much but to hear her voice and see her picture was beyond perfect.  I do not know who took the pictures but I would love to give them a big hug.

The BOX

The box just arrived. You know, the box that contains the items that were his last connection with civilian life.

Having read a number of others' posts, I didn't expect to see a letter inside. It's strange to see his shoes, shirt, pants, belt and phone! Yup, civilian life is gone.

Pondering: When they make their first phone call announcing their safe arrival at Great Lakes they are following a script, right? They must be to ensure the basic information is shared in the… Continue

Time is marching by, I miss her already.

...it's hitting me hard--- grad is next week.  my little girl isn't my little girl anymore...I love her soooo damn much- I miss her already-- this sucks, BUT it's what she wants to do.  I just hope she makes it through,  she's tough, but is she tough enough?  I worry constantly for her.  I can't stop-  at least the nightmares have stopped about her not making it through.   no one here understands, cept for my boss, and he has a way of hitting my buttons just right, and I get weepy.  ugh!!! …

Question about first paycheck.

I have noticed a lot of post saying that there SR's first check was very small. I all ready expect the money for uniforms and the chit book, etc. to come out. My SR went to boot camp May 16th. We do not expect a check until June 15th or after. I am just wondering what that first check will include. Will it include the June 1st and June 15th pay, and what about the days from May 16th-May 31st. Anyone know how this works? Thanks in advance for any insight.
