For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Is your SR Ship 07 Div 172? My son has the grad date of may 13th also. Jacob has told me that he will have the weekend off.

We ate at Lou Malnati's when we visited my son last year for his Pass In Review. Awesome authentic pizza! (I forgot to order the famous "buttered crust" but it was still superior pizza. My son wore his dress whites that day. I never saw him more careful about not spilling his food. hahah.
Also..Hot Doug's...I had the Thuringer dog. The line was long (around the corner of the building) but it moved extremely fast! Very worth it! Hot Dougs was featured on the Food Network and Anthony Bourdain (of Travel Channel) loved it too. I got a souvenir T-Shirt there too that I love.

We stayed at the Hawthorne Suites. VERY NICE! We loved that they had a kitchen in the room, and a BBQ grill outside. We opted for grilling ribeyes ourselves, instead of fighting for a seat in a restaurant. My son wanted to do that too. Said "It's just like we do at home." We had more quiet time to visit too. The first evening of our visit I raised my voice to get my 2yr olds attention (before she hurt herself) and my son JUMPED almost out of his skin! LOL It was funny and sad at the same time. I laughed & saved my tear for later. My husband reminded my son that "Bootcamp, is NOT the Navy. The Navy comes next. It's now that you get to start to experience the REAL Navy." My son loves the Navy, 1 year into it. He plans to reenlist. OH and his commanders told him that they cannot tell the sailors that they can have cell phones or sunglasses until AFTER they reached their next destination, & also that they were NOT going to do a search. My son didn't chance ANYTHING! We mailed his newly purchased $400 sunglasses (bootcamp gift to himself)and his Iphone to him once he was in Florida. He said that when their bus arrived in Florida & the announcement was made that they are "Now arrived at their "A" School.... EVERY single person, but him, pulled out their hidden sunglasses and cell phones! lol He was still able to call us anyways, by using other peoples phones they shared with him. I told him "You still got to call us anyways afterall, and at least the "risk" wasn't on you." Crazy kids! He loved his "A" school & made many friends that he will have for life!
