As I look back at my N4M, Facebook, USNA, dropshots, plebesummer, and all the other places I have been over the last 3 months, it is hard to believe HOW much has gone on. I looked at my last post here, and it has been 4 months Yikes, I bet all the other N4M's think I have faded away. On the contrary. I have been so consumed with the prep for Annapolis since the month before Scott's graduation, and the weeks after PPW, and finalizing Scott's much needed items. We have been to the Congressional Send Off, the Governor's send off, visited grandparents and other family members in NY, CO, MO, GA, NC, MD...Most has been driving! Surely the 10000 miles in 3 months puts my car in the cash for clunkers.... or maybe it puts me the the mommy for clunkers.

My 6 yr old starts a new school tomorrow, and Scott should have started his classes at the Naval Academy today.

Induction day was soooo awesome...Thanks to all of you, and all early acceptance, I was able to leave my tears home, and just be there for Scott. We did the DC tour from one end of the mall to the other, and toured the yard the day before. USNA is breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking. I was in awe of how well run things were with 1200+plebes and their crying moms and dads! UFB.... truly a work of art.

PPW was great too. Scott slept a lot, and seemed to be hypervigilant just making sure the detailers in sheeps clothing (civies) did not fault him for anything out of order. He even ran into his own detailer and said hello MR....., as if he had just busted the cop behind the speed trap. How funny.

As it turns out, Scott injured his knee during the obstacle course and again in recent weeks. Now he needs surgery to correct the ligaments to prevent continual knee dislocations. Yet another chapter. He will remain with the Navy, and be rehabbed, and it should not affect his appointment.....Sigh....

Afraid to take too big of a deep breath.... still trying to remain hypervigilant... Hmmmmmm, wonder where Scott gets this from? Ha!

Hi Barbara ~ Congratulations on Scott's success to this point!! I know that PPW and Induction Day is a very sobbering and incredible day for both the parents and the mid. Enjoy his 4 years by the Severn...it'll go very quickly after his plebe year and you'll wonder where it went.
