thank you Laura for the heads up on the rental car agreement. I am going to see if my SR's girlfriend and I can come over to to the meet and greet from our hotel,  I hope we can, but it will be at around 8pm

Shari 03/299 - Be sure to have the car rental agreement with you when you approach the main gate.  You will need it to be allowed on base.

Great Lakes is smaller than you would expect for a Navy base.  It is on Lake Michigan but there aren't any ships docked there.  It is a training base for "A" schools, headquarters & Navy facilities.  The only housing on the base is for the top brass.  All of the other housing is about 1/2 mile off base.

That being said, there is a very nice beach, movie theatre, restaurant and athletic fields.  Be sure to pick up a map at the gate.

I believe the meet & greet is for all PIR 9/9.
Comment by Laura on September 5, 2011 at 3:20am

The Meet & Greet is for all family members of the sailors who are graduating on 9-9.

It doesn't matter which division your loved one is in, all are welcome to attend!

I'm a little confused is the meet and greet for both Bro Div's or just 299 and would anyone know where I would go to get a look at the Div300 Tee's?

I think we should plan on taking a group photo!! Then we can show our SR's how we all came together for a common cause and support!!

I ordered a sweatshirt yesterday and she said it would be 3-4 weeks. That's ok, at least I will have one. One of the ladies posted a picture of it and it is WAY COOL.

jennk the shirts are being made by a company called Posideon they print the picture of the flag which the divisions design themselves. I think it might be to late to order now, if you would like a 299 shirt I may have an extra sz lg. and the ribbons are something Lala makes herself you can contact her if you want to order them with your daughters name and division to wear at PIR

I am so confused about the shirts and ribbons.  This is all so new to me and my daughters PIR is 9/9!  Help lol

"JENNSMOM" is staying there too so I can give them to her at the meet and greet. She can either meet up with you or leave them at the front desk for you I'm sure. Don't panic about it. I think we are all spinning right now. I know I am!
