I know I saw on here somewhere where a parent lit a blue candle on a day they were expecting their child to call towards the end of their bootcamp. Now I can't find that post anywhere. Can someone please tell me the significance of lighting the blue candle on ths day while in boot camp? I want to sey it was while waiting the get the "I'm a sailor" call.

the reason behind the blue candles is when you miss your sailor or are thinking a lot of them (when arent we) you lite a blue candle for them. you can use it whenever you want.
The blue candle is for when you are thinking about your Loved One. When does your rct graduate?
No clue yet. She just left Tuesday so I haven't received my letter yet. So I guess I need to go buy my blue candle somewhere.
you can call the recruiter for the addy if you want. Make sure you post it on here (or on my page and I'll delete it after I look at it) to make sure it looks correct and to tell you how to write it. Often the recruiter will give you a really wierd looking addy (or a completely wrong one) BUT your rct will not receive any mail nor send any for about 3 weeks.
My recruit is set to graduate on June 8th. She has a two year old that I have custody of. We light the candle and talk about Mommy and where she is. At night she gets to blow it out. We sent her mom a picture of her blowing out the blue candle and how we talk about lighting it when we get to missing her. My recruit loved the picture and said she loved the idea of the candle. Seemed to help all three of us. Best of luck to you and your recruit. God bless!
