Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Daughter leaves April 1st
I am having the hardest time getting through this! I find myself crying daily. Everyday seems to be harder and harder. I am so very proud and excited for her. When do the tears stop?

What you are feeling is normal for you and some others, but don't miss her before she has gone.
Take time to enjoy the time you have with her.
Go through the Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for... with her so that you will both be prepared.
Join the groups that I left on your My Page a while back.

Hi, My daughter left 1/21, she is going to graduate3/20.... i did a lot for crying, but it was selfish on my part i just missed her so.. but write daily that really helped me. She was suppose to leave in April and then they changed her orders i got 6 day notice. talk about shock......anyway i see her in 11 days...it drags for us, but it flies for them... She'll do great...hang in there

When do they stop? I wish I knew becasue my son leaves July 9th and I haven't stopped crying since he got that date! He's my oldest and honestly, my quiet, sweet one. Never thought he would entertain the idea of joining the military. But he needed to do something with his life. He's so excited...anxious but excited because now he has something to look forward to. As for me...heartbreak daily at the thought of our last good-bye before boot camp. I keep replaying that moment in my head. But then, I realize that this is just 8 weeks...then he's off to an amazing adventure. We have made the effort to spend alot of time with each other lately...more so than we normally do. We talk alot about what to expect, about me writing him, and more about how awesome it is going to be once he gets to his A school. I'm trying to stay positive but for some crazy reason...can only seem to concentrate on the negative...like how much I'll miss him. Just remember, you are not alone...there are alot of us feeling the same way. No shame in loving our children! I've heard from several friends who have had children go into the military and they stay their relationships got stronger. Absolutely something to look forward to! Stay strong!
