Evening Everyone :)

This is for my daughter in law and son.  He has finished A school and is in a job where he has several underways.  They got married when he was in A school February 2012 and moved into an apartment down town.  They are scheduled to move onto base in February as my son is on an underway and the DIL just told me that the Navy is not paying for the move as it's, "just over the bridge."  That doesn't make sense to me but maybe it's true but it sounds odd.  The navy paid for his stuff from here to where he's at now earlier this year.  Info would be helpful :)

Thank you.

Yes, it's true, the Navy is not obligated to pay for the move into base housing since they already paid for him to get there when they moved into the apt downtown.  I'm assuming that the new orders are in the same area geographically as his A school was?  Now, if he graduated A school and was stationed say, here in GL or San Diego and his A school was in FL then they would pay.  We live in housing now and if we decided to go out in town, they would not pay.

What a lovely name SaipanSweethearts :)

Thanks for your reply - now I get it.  They're moving from one place in the state to just a few streets over onto the base.  It will all work out.

Again, thanks ")

No problem!  It's always good to ask questions as I'm sure there are those that would love to pull one over if they think maybe a new sailor isn't aware of their privileges.  I'm kinda in the same boat that once we move up the list for newer (bigger!) housing, we'd have to move ourselves and it's just not gonna be worth it most likely.  We'd have to hire a company as hubby works very long hours just about 7 days a week.  So I guess we'll stay put, I like the neighbors anyway. And thanks, the name is reference to where we first met.

My son and his fiance are wanting to get married. He just finished bc and is in A school any advice on what to do

Hi, Calebs Mom,

No, I have no advice.  His A school was in Connectucut, sub school, and his fiance is from that area.  He did  everything himself and he probably asked lots of questions.  I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
