Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

There is no set time on phone calls. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.
He will write the first real letter the first Sunday that he is in his permanent ship, which could be Sunday, 5 May, but could be 12 May if he is held in P-days longer to wait on additional recruits to arrive and complete P-days and fill his division or his brother division. Once he is in his permanent ship and a Recruit Mail Petty Officer has been trained, he will have Mail Call every evening M-F beginning on about 1-4 DOT. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.
He must be at BC at least 3 weeks before the first pay day. Pay days are the 1st and the 15th, so it is very possible that his first pay day will be 1 June (31 May since 1 June is a Saturday) since he will not have been at the RTC 3 full weeks for pay day today or on the 15th; so if you see pay before 1 June, be pleasantly surprised. Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in April, to connect with others with loved ones who left that day and may have PIR together.
You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), Girlfriends, Fiances,andWives of Sailors, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.
Since you will have a Corpsman, sometime between now and the end of BC, join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio.

Thank you so much! Very informative. Now is there any groups for fts? which is a program my husband is in. I want to know details abou this also. I've read a lot on it online but would like to know personal experiences. Would we move a lot? Does he get shipped out more/less?

You are very welcome. Join HM (Hospital Corpsman) A School in San Antonio because there will be lots on info there as well as Navy Reserve Moms (there is not a group for wives that I know of or found). They will be able to help you.
