Hello. My son is a senior in high school and he just completed MEPS with a ship date in September. He scored well on his ASVAB. However, during the eye exam he learned that he had red green color deficiency. This removed many rate choices.
When he got to rate selection, there was literally only one option for him...LSS. He actually didn't want to tell me he chose this because if he had to rate the jobs from 1 - 100 and number 1 being 1st choice, LSS would have this was a been around 97 or 98 for him. At the time, his recruiter even said this was completely opposite of what he wanted (the rates he wanted did NOT require color vision, his scores were high enough, they just weren't available).
So with all that I have said, I know he will give 100% but I also know he will be miserable.
I don't even know if I have a question as I feel he is stuck and there is nothing he can do about the situation.
