We have 6 people that would like to go to my son's PIR on August 20th. Does anyone know if the extra two have a good chance of getting in after graduation has started? There is 5 divisions graduating that day compared to some of the other graduation dates that have 9 - 11 divisions. Would this mean more seating room? Has anybody had any experience with this? I would hate to get a couple of extra airline tickets and then they couldn't get in to the graduation.

Thanks! Think I will go ahead and make travel plans then.
Hi my fmaily are in turnoil because they want 5 to go and my sonn put 4 on the list. When do we find out that extra people can get in.
Thanks for the info
Jo
Just an FYI - my son graduated from BC almost two years ago. There were 13 divisions graduating that day and there was room for extra guests. The one extra that was with us knew there were no guarantees and s/he had a clear understanding that they may have to wait in the Visitors Center so that all the invited guests could be guaranteed a seat. Your son may also be able to find a recruit in his division that will not have 4 invited guests and he may be able to put the two extra names on that person's list.
I am actually glad to see this discussion because I'm in the same boat. I have a total of 6 that for sure will be there and want to attend, 1 under the age of 12. I'm pretty sure that others will be coming to see Chris, but they were already told that he could only invite 4 people in so they weren't even going to try. Now I can tell them that they 'may' get to attend, just no promises until that day. I will see if he can find another recruit in his division to add atleast 1 name to.
Unfortunately, the only way to get the extra people on the list is to have your recruit ask a few of his shipmates if he can take up their watch duty in exchange for a spot. That's what I was told by an RTC. Some recruits may not have many or any people to go for them so yep.
diannep,
My son wrote me a letter and said only 4 can get on base for graduation. His PIR is 8/6 with 11 div. What are my chances of 3 more surprise adults get in. He does not know they are comming.
I have the same thing with my own. Though my fiance only out 3 guests on the list and even then one may not be going so my minister may be able to get in with us that way.
Just my luck....my son's Division is one of 14!! The chances of my husband being able to attend are slim to none unless my son can "borrow" a spot from a fellow recruit! ugh!
