SIQ means sick in quarters, usually a day or two of bed rest for an illness which is not deemed serious, but requires a little rest. I had a day of SIQ in BC because I had a bad reaction to the shots, there's several reasons it may be assigned. He's probably up and about by now.

Missing the group picture is kinda sad, but it happens. He will take the test at some time, whatever it is.
First let me apologize for taking so long to respond. Second, a huge thank you for the explanation. It made me feel so much better. I will depend on the adage that "no news is good news" and leave it at that. WhenI learn what happened I will update everyone. Thanks again!

Hi lorisue -

I'm guessing he's in BC still. When Ryan was in boot camp, they took out his wisdom teeth. He was SIQ for 3 days (he got a bacterial infection that had to be fixed by the head of dentists there). They should be able to let him make up whatever test he missed. It is sad about the group picture though. Good luck to him and to you!
Hi Casey, thanks for answering me. Before I say anything else, your baby is absolutely gorgeous!!! I have more baby pics around the house now, of both kids, since they'll both be on their journeys by the end of the month. Anyway, TJ had his teeth pulled over July 4 weekend. And he was back with his unit fairly soon. I'm trying not to worry too much. I'm in countdown mode til I see him on August 13. I'll be getting a phone call on the 6th, so we'll see what happens then.

How long have you & the family been in the Navy? Sounds like I'll be asking you lots of questions since TJ is in Nukes too.

Have a great day and thanks again, Lori
