I'm going to be keeping track of our members stash numbers for Sue. So please send me the number of pillowcases in your stash and whether they are for males or females. I'll try and update the numbers as often as possible, so let me know when you mail any out or add more to your stash. I'm hoping this will help Sue know what we have available for future groups.

Keep sewing!

Sue, I found some more of the Detroit Lions fabric. Its not a pillowcase yet, but that's one more football pattern for the fall. Of course, I can always get Steeler fabric.
Okay - I can report a total of 30 pillowcases to add to the tally. Here's a breakdown:

Male - 10
Female - 9
Generic - 9
Navy Specific - 2
Lyn, I have even organized my fabric somewhat. hha. I have a box labeled "sports teams and sports". And Ally has a whole list of sports teams that she got at a yard sale. It was a great find. So if we do that again, we can be ready.

I picked up 6 pillowcases that were made by a grandma of one of the students at the school I spoke to on 2-5. There 5 males, 1 female.

BUT, need advice. 2 are solid navy, 2 solid black, 2 a tiny print, but they all have a single gold star on them. Otherwise, very plain. Now, gold stars mean something to us military people. Not really sure what to do with them. thoughts?
Sue, As pretty as they may be I just don't think you can use them. Especially the black ones. If you want to send me the Navy ones and the tiny print ones, I might be able to do something to make them more useable. But the black background and gold star is definitely reserved for the Gold Star Mothers and that's a group no one wants to join.
I agree with Lyn's advice. I concur with her that none of us wants to qualify for a gold star pillowcase. It makes me sad to even think about it.
Yes, that's what i thought too. I'll look at them and see if I can just remove the applique. I haven't been able to talk to the crew member who got them to see if there is a reason behind them.

I'll let you know Lyn how they look and if I can take them off. Thanks for the offer. The 2 tiny prints would be fine as is.
I haven't gotten my stash going again as of yet. I sent what I had that wasn't 'whimsical' to the USS Cleveland. I started working again after 6 months retired haha I had quit my job to take care of my granddaughter so she didn't have to go to daycare and then her mother decided to move almost 2 hours away. If I can't spend time with her I will make money to spend on her when I do have her and I need something to supplement my new pillowcase projects. I have once again become a fabric junky. I will start sewing again this weekend, I have many cut just not sewn. Have a great day all!
My count is:
Males 9
Females 20
Patriotic 21
Sports teams or Nascar 6
Generic 32
Nautical 7
Thanks everyone for checking in. I am taking down the count from the discussion because it is difficult to keep updating it here. I will be keeping the count on a spread sheet for Sue. If anyone is interested and wants to see the count they can contact me and I'll send it to you. But please, DON'T STOP SENDING ME YOUR STASH COUNT! Sue still needs to know what we all have available.
got about 30 pillowcases today from 2 Tucson crew. I will have to sort them out and let you know.
I have the following to add to the count:

1 Dallas Cowboys
5 Patriotic
4 Female
3 Males
Matt's Mom & Maryellen. I've got both you counts on the list. I'll be sending the totals to Sue later this week.
