The USS Abraham Lincoln will be deployed for Christmas and has given approval for the ship to receive pillowcases while on deployment.   That will be 5,000 or more strong.

The main postings for this project will be in the Lincoln group under the thread called "The Lincoln Family Love Pillowcase Project".

I will update here as well so you don't have to join the Lincoln group.

Let us know what you can do to help us get the ship done!

Sue, U. Michigan is navy blue with yellow "M." One grandson is a U. Michigan fan and "everything" is Navy with yellow "M."
Dori is the Wolerviines though? maybe it's an M but I thought it was W. But I can't remember. And Alaina, is it the Wolervines that you want? A Michigan mom sent that to me over a year ago.
Thanks for tellling me that I mailed it to you Tamara. I was thinking that I did mail to someone but couldn't pull it out of my brain.

I thught I had her address but I don't.
Yes, they are the Wolverines.

Sue, I am going to have to go to JoAnn's for the Red Sox fabric. One store had none, another local store had fleece and JoAnn's had fleece and one bolt of regular fabric. I guess it is the end of the season. I will try to go on Monday.
Sue,

Below you will find the division breakdown of the Lincoln.

Legal
Navigation
Religious Ministries
Safety
Training
Administration
Deck
Health Services (medical & dental)
Media (Public Affairs)
Combat Systems
Engineering
Operations
Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Depot
Reactor
Weapons (including Security)
Air (V1 to V5)
Supply (includes CS - culinary)

No numbers, but at least we know what we are dealing with. This doesn't include the airwings, but that's okay. forgot about the religious ministries. I am going to see if I can get a chaplain to be my POC. I have some cool fabric for chaplains.
Sue, would the airwing be a part of "Air (V1 to V5)"? As I understand it, HAE is involved in Health Services, Supply, religious ministries (?), and the various squadrons of HAE moms? This helps a lot, even without the numbers. Where are the fire fighters?
DC, the way I understand it, V1 to V5 are personnel that are assigned to the ship and the airwing are the folks (like my son) that are assigned to squadrons.
Yes Alaina, that is correct .... V-1 to V-5 are the Air Department of the ship, not part of a squadron or airwing.
Learned something new. Many thanks.
I would think the firefighters are with safety or operations. no word on them as yet. my POC for medical said he'll have the info soon.

I also asked him for an all female unit on the ship. Don't know about religious ministries, but have asked med guy and my son for a chaplain's email address to write and ask how many.

still sorting all the pcs that have come in since mid August. I have been terrible about it. I have about 200/

Made contact with someone from Crash & Salvage which is the firefighters and he wrote back! He'll be the POC. So far I only have 29 in the unit. I wrote back to confirm, so Granny I posted 29 for now.

I also heard from the person in religious ministries and he is checking with his command to make sure that it is alright. So thank you for the that fabric Granny!

Still waiting for firm med numbers. I will email him again. The ship has left port so they should be back to normal.
