Welcome to N4M - I just wanted to say hi so you knew someone saw you ask. I am not as familiar with the Officer side of things as the enlisted but there are some groups on here for Officers.
With my posting here, you can at least click on my picture and it will take you to my profile page. I have to be gone for awhile but if no one else reaches out to you, I will try to connect you with some other officer moms or groups.
Thank you for your reply and efforts. It was so nice to hear from you.
Welcome to N4M. Join the OCS and Officer Moms groups in here:
Those members have/had kids/spouses that went to OCS and can help you with questions that you can post in each group. They will see the questions more readily in those groups than in this forum post.
I will also ask some of my N4M friends with OCS kids to send you friend requests to provide you info along this journey! Also accept the friend request I sent you.
MhdMom26 - You will be in good hands with LeAnn and those in the groups she shared with you!
Thank you for the reply and the link information. I have a sense of relief already that I now have access to information and not adrift in this process. I will definitely get busy with reading past posts to see what topics have already been discussed. So happy right now. Thank you again.
Hi MhdMom - We drove my son to OCS quarantine in December and pulled up to the gate and a very serious young man asked if I had orders and I literally didn't know what he was talking about. My son said he had orders and we dropped him at the gate with a duffel bag and weren't allowed to proceed past the gate. I got out of the car to hug my son and made a U-turn. Apparently, if my husband or I were military we would have been able to go farther but we are not. And that was the beginning of an amazing (and confusing) process, that another mom I have connected with accurately describes as "clear as mud." My son is 10 weeks in now and I sent you a friend request and maybe I can answer some questions for you that I had just a few weeks ago. Good luck to your daughter! -Judy
Hi Judy, Thank you for your reply. I am mentally preparing myself for the "clear as mud" process. I hope all is going well with your son.
At this point, I am still figuring out what my questions are. So much that I don't know, just taking it step by step and drop off seemed like a logical first step and I stalled out there and gladly found this group just as the panic set in. I appreciate yours (and everyone's) time. -Amy
