Thanks Marianne, I don't want to make it seem like this is easy because it's not, don't get me wrong i still breakdown at times, We have a one year old and it gets overwhelming but i have to remember that this is not easy on him either, and i have to stay supportive and positive.

MarianneT......Thanks for the reply...Yeah i thought so, 4-6 weeks, sooner would be great, but i'm preparing for the 4-6. He did mention that there has to be 25 per class. And yes patience got to have lots of it. But i can't say i didn't know that going into this. I know it's only the beginning but i'm staying optimistic! We have to!
I will be moving with him, we are a family and have to stay together. He needs me and I need him. Excited, nervous, and a little uneasy about it but as ready as I'm going to be. Ready to get this new chapter of our lives started!!!

Hello I'm new to all of this, as well, and the information i have found on here is and has been very helpful. Thank you~ My husband is currently in Pensacola waiting to class up, (ABH) he has been there for a week, from what i'm reading it takes 4-6 weeks to get into a class?? Does that sound about right? He is telling me that is more like 2 to 4 weeks from what he has heard. Just wondering which one sounds more like it?

Smoothie: Since the only places ABH's are is on carriers, she would be in SD, Norfolk, Bremerton. FL or Japan. Just wait to move until she gets to her permanent duty station. Most of the ABH training is on board ship, just like the ABE's (that's what my son is).

Thanks guys, no, actually you are all being pretty clear on things. So when in port they usually work 8 hours or so other than the ones a week 24 hour thing. Then when they deploy, that's when they work like crazy. On average, how many long deployments do they do in the 4 years in? And typicly how long are they? I know it varies but from what some of you have been through... also, where are some places that abh's might get stationed?
