Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Well my A made it to Charlston last night around 930pm and waited a half hour before hey picked him up.He was a little nervous about who he would be roomates with but the Sailor he is with has been there since September. My son called me at 11:15 and said I'm really tired and need to go to sleep so I will talk to you tomorrow sometime.Feels like a piece of me missing again hopefully it gets easier.
moch1-it would be cool if our boys get to know each other. When did your sailor grad?
Betsy-love the font you are using, you can fit more and it is clean looking. Well ladies, Elizabeth and I arranged the boys' flights so that they would arrive in Hartford at about the same time. Worked out beautifully!! They met at the baggage pick up and were not able to find the shuttle (no one answered at the quarterdeck when they called), so they taxied in (I don't know how much it cost, but at least they were able to split the cost). Elizabeth and I were both getting texts from the kids as well as each other, so were able to keep track of their progress. Well, it turns out that they are ROOMMATES!! How cool is that?? IB says the room is "KEWL" IBspeak for a really neat thing/place, so he is happy and I think they are both pretty jazzed that they ended up being roommates. I have not heard from IB since this afternoon and can only assume he hit the sack early since he was up most of the night traveling. (It killed ME just staying up long enough to get him on the plane!!) I have now communicated more with my kid in one day than the entire time he was off..
Rose, thanks for the PO box info, sounds like a deal, the other box sounds like it is tough to get to.
Nanny2-ditto everything you said about AA, BUT when we flew out of Chicago they were a totally different story, so it depends on who you get I guess.
Film of PIR-I have bits and pieces on my phone. Not totally sure how to get it onto the computer, so need to investigate it.
Maggie div 27-are you the same Maggie from the Residence Inn or the one who planned the dinner at Anastasia's? Either way, glad to see you here...

Penny, I'm so sorry about the Dvd. That's just awful. I hope someone videotaped it and can offer copies to you all ((hugs)) I think I also talk more to A now than when he was home too. Isn't that funny?
Terry, ((hugs)) Just reading your's and Penny's posts brought last week all back to me. *tear.
Hello ladies,
((HUGS!)) to all of you who said and are saying goodbye! I had the worst melt down after I go home on Saturday! But I have talked to him so much since then...I think I have actually talked to him more than when he was home! :) Let yourself have that time to ...well...grieve. You have a right to feel those feelings...don't let anyone make you feel bad for having that time for yourself...because I'm sure that like me, you have had to have that "be strong" face and attitude while your sailor was home...well, now is your time to not worry about being strong. Once you let it out, you can move on.
I talked to N tonight...it sounds like it is going to be a while before they actually get going on BESS. Working on processing. He is such a goof! I asked him his roommates names and where they were from. Could only remember the last name of one that was from California! I was thinking, "How can you not know their names???" But that is my son! haha!
They do have microwave and mini fridge in their rooms.
I am sooooooooooo bummed about the DVD! I can't even believe it! A similar thing happened with my wedding video too! UGH! :(
Well ladies, have a great night. I hope you all hear from your sailors who are traveling!
Penny
