My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Betsy, thanks for the commiseration. Sorry to hear that A feels crummy! I know that IB was having problems with some of the holiday foods as the BC foods were "so healthy" and what he was eating was upsetting his stomach, hopefully this is a similar episode. Hard when they are far from home and you only know enough to worry. :-(

Hi Nancy, I was thinking about you.  Sorry to hear that I is with dad.  ((hugs)) I can't wait to see pictures of PIR!  I will talk to you tomorrow night.

A just Skyped me and we talked for 1/2 hour!  He looked tired and said he was feeling a little sick.  He thinks the pizza didn't agree with him.  :(

Hello All, I have been celebrating the holidays with family and just returned this evening. I have been so out of the loop response wise, but have been reading posts on my phone. So very happy to hear that all of the kids are arriving safely with this horrid weather, hope it is cleared up next week when IB has to travel.

Lori-your info is priceless!! Kinda like having a little spy (or maybe a big one LOL). I messaged you IB's Facebook info for you to pass on to A. Thought maybe they could begin to communicate in person.

Will try to get on to the chat tomorrow night.

Nancy

PS. Penny, I am in the same boat as you (well similar) my kid is out of town at dad's, where the GF lives, and he is returning the DAY HE LEAVES for BESS. I am bummed, but this is his decision, even though I think it sucks...for me!!

Penny, ((hugs))  I'm sure he will call you soon.

WOw sounds like everyone is making friends and getting in touch. I think CJ is making friends and hanging out but can't be sure - he is not speaking to me right now. Which is okay I guess. He has been on face book a few times leaving comments on his page. I am sure he is telling the girlfriend all about his experiences. Anyway have a great night - I have company

Lori, Wow, how cool about the submarine.  He must have an awesome view.  I can't wait to see the pictures.  Have a great time tonight.

Love reading the posts - especially the A and Kate ones!  I'm off to the movies with the girls tonight - Little Fockers - should be funny!  My house is quiet and clean.  Talked to A today - he has done some exploring and really likes Groton a lot!  He saw a sub depart today from his bedroom window.  He has taken some pictures and will send as soon as his internet is available (needs the password from his roomys who have not shown up yet).  The NEX is huge there - 2 floors with everything imaginable!  So he did some shopping.  It sure is nice having phone contact with my Sailor!  Makes this experience much, much better!

Susan, A would love that, I'm sure.  He actually did mention your upcoming trip last night on the phone.  I had a feeling he would be getting in touch with Kaitlyn, I noticed him glancing at her a lot when we were all talking in your room.  lol  Looks like your daughter has a sailor admirer.  I would totally love for you to check up on him.

Betsy - They have been talking a lot lol. When I told her on Sunday that he had left home she said "I can't believe he didn't tell me." Pretty funny. Her and I were talking that when we are there in Feb to see if he wants to leave base with D and a few other of their friends to hang out with us. Plus I can check up on him and let you know how he is:)

Wendi, I'm so sorry that I have been out of touch for awhile.  I have a lot going on here!   LOL    T said they had to travel in dress blues.  I also read that somewhere.   It was my understanding that anytime they fly they should be in those specific uniforms.  I actually worried about them being targeted if something were to go wrong, but I guess they are in charge and what momma thinks doesn't really matter.    LOL

Note:  I see a trip to S.C. in my near future.  Ty didn't take anything but necessaries with him, aside from his cell phone (YEAH THANK GOODNESS) and a Christmas gift (his laptop).
