My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

I was confused when H was telling me where her rooom was. She  was saying A B or B A so it mist be building and room. I am going to have her write it down for me.I probably won"t hear from her until this evening again.

Susan, glad to hear that D is there safe and sound.  ((hugs)).  That's cool that he has a buddy close by.  A is in barracks C and he said that they told him, when he got there, that he will probably stay there.  But, of course, anything could happen. As of last night, he only had one roommate, but I'm sure that could change.  A told me that he has been talking to Kaitlyn.   :)

I got a text from D today saying he is in class until 4pm. He texted last night and said he is sharing a room with 2 guys. One from his division and one who has been there awhile. He was last one in so he got top bunk lol. His buddy who waited on him at the airport is in the room next door and they share a common area. I guess they will split the internet/TV 3 ways.
Betsy - Has A been in the same room the whole time? A asked Kaitlyn what building D was in and D had no idea. A told Kate what building he is in so I will question D further tonight when he calls.
I'm so glad everyone is getting settled! Doesn't seemlike anyway of them have had any trouble so far. Susan

I just found out from a friend of mine, that her son is going to NAS Pensacola also.  Her son is also a really good friend of A's from when we lived in WV.   He leaves today to fly down there from WV.  He is the same rate in the Marines as A is in the Navy.  How wild is that?  Even though we moved 6 years ago to NM from WV, they are still friends and now they will be training at the same facility for the Navy and Marines.  I can't wait to tell A.  It truly is a small world.

Penny, my A said that he will probably stay in that room now, so that's why he is planning on splitting it with the roommate.

Wow sounds likes every base has good sets ups. I haven't heard too much about GL set up for rooms. CJ did say he has to pay for internet. Not sure if he is gonna share or what. I thought he should wait until he was in a permanent room but you know these kids and their toys.

Anyway good luck too all and I am glad everyone is safe!

Anita, glad to hear that he arrived safely.

Salma, I hope you hear from him soon.  ((hugs))

Lori, Wow, a view of the river, that's pretty cool.  It sounds like his room in a perfect location. I can't wait to see the pictures!

sacred's mom, glad to hear that he called and everything is good.

J made it to A school and I have not received a call or text since he arrived last night. He did say that there was not a USO station at the Meridian Airport and there were 6 others flying on his planes that were going to Meridian so they all caught a van. He just called made it in fine and getting situated in his room.

@ Penny (ctownnavymom) - sent you a PM - the laptop is a go; N should definitely take his laptop.  A took a back pack with electronics and he didn't say he couldn't have them when he called last night at 11:30 P EST.

A is settled in Groton; he was shown around by a PO around 10:00 P and he called from his room at 11:30 P and was elated with the set up.  Only 3 people per room and none of the beds are bunks.  He said the bed is awesome!  His room mates must be on liberty as neither were there.  One has a 40" t.v. but it faces his bed.  The internet / cable cost per month is a bit more than H's Wendi - $85/month and can be split by 3.  His room overlooks the river and the on base bowling alley/pub - said that's cool.  There is a tv area close to his room.  Overall I think he is really pleased with base and his room.  He has liberty until the 3rd which suprised him although he has to muster Thursday a.m.  This will give him time to get settled and explore!  He is planning to take some pictures today.  All news was good!

Wendi, that's funny, A never mentioned the kitchen or laundry.  lol  That's funny about the bed time.
