My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Got a call from H. She sounded good,. She said there are 4 girls/2 rooms with a kitchenette and laundry. I wonder if all 4 could share wifi? She said things are much more relaxed there and they can order food to be delivered. She has a mentor and he said she could go to bed whenever she wanted and she said,"you mean no one is going to yell at me for being in my rack?" That was a highlight of her day. She has to muster at 0530. I can sleep well tonight knowing she is safe and happy. Says bed is comfy and warm.

Talk to you all tomorrow. But not too early :)

Anita, good to hear that N is all settled now.

I just got a phone call from A.  He sounded great. He said he got up for muster today and was told he didn't need too.  He went back to bed.  lol  He went to the NEX and just hung out with some new friends and some old friends.  Found out, for those who don't know yet, Wifi at NAS Pensacola is $40 per month.  He and his roommate are splitting the cost.  I got his address.  Woohoo!  He said that his A school is going to be longer than he thought.  No surprise there for me, as I kept telling him to prepare for that.  :)

I got a text from H about 3 hours ago saying that she had landed and was getting ready to head for base. Nothing since then. I am glad everyone is getting settled in. Can't wait to hear how things goa s they get started with their schooling. H was pretty sad leaving today, but I am sure once she gets settled in and sees people that she knows she will be better.

I know the feeling, ctown.....B was smiling the whole way leaving and said she was so excited to get back. I am so happy and excited for her but it was bittersweet.

Glad to hear that there were no major delays in all the travel today.

So good to hear that everyone is arriving safely...N is actually getting anxious to get to Groton! I could tell when I watched him today reading all of the fb messages from his division shipmates. I asked him if he wished he was on his way and he said, "Oh yeah!" It killed me, but I can totally understand. They are already a family and, even though I am going to miss him fiercely, I am so happy that he feels that way about his decision!

Lori...I just read your message from last night...and then I read all of your messages from today. So glad that A is safely there. What did he end up doing with his laptop?

Wendi, they probably did wait for H. The other Sailor's flight wasnt due til about 6:30. I'm sure they make a group pickup when possible.

Susan, that is so funny about your hubby !! I felt silly taking my shoes off for the security check. My first time !! Wil know what to expect for now on.

Sounds like everyone is making their flights without much trouble. Will continue sending prayers for those who have yet to arrive
