Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

CJ also got to his room about 1:30 this am and was getting unpacked. He said mom I had to walk to the other side of the base. He was so tired. Anyway for those who haven't left yet. Make sure these guys understand they have to carry their stuff from processing to their new ships and it could be a long distance.
Anyway looking forward to getting his new address.
J is still sleeping. We leave for the airport at around Noon (central). I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't ask for the day off!! I pretty much have to drop him off at the curb and give a quick hug goodbye. I guess that might actually be good. It'll give him some time to get his head back in the game. I think i will request that he and his gf say their goodbyes here, before the trip to the airport. Too emotional. Am i mean?
I'm really excited for A school. It'll be kinda like when J was in his apartment across town (except he wont bring me his laundry and eat all my groceries). I guess the 5 months in his own apartment was good for both of us.
My dad gave him a stern warning about bringing his laptop, cell, and iPod. . . He said that studying is the most important thing - and don't get trapped by hanging with the other guys, or trying to keep one foot in his old life (laptop, fb, video games, ipod, text messaging, etc). He said that when he(my dad) was in A school (air traffic controller) he studied like crazy. After the days events were over, he'd still get a few hours of studying in. He's a really smart guy and but it was never easy. He warned J that it may look and feel like a college - but it's NOT college. You're expected to get your degree in weeks - not years. Focus on why you're there and what is important - leave the gaming and texting to once-a-week.
I thought it was great advice. And certainly not anything he'd really take from me - had to be from another Navy man.
I'll post again if he texts me anything interesting from the airport.
Thinking of all of you - hope each day gets a little easier.
B's mom, ((hugs)) to you. I am still tearing up this morning just thinking about A. Lori, My prayers and thoughts are with you, my good friend, as well as Ash and Drew. ((hugs)) to all of you. I'm so glad that you were able to go to the gate. Susan, your D and your special family are in my prayers today. ((hugs)) to you all.
My A called me last night (well, this morning) at 1:25 a.m. He had just finished with his paperwork and still had to unpack his seabag. After he finished that, he was going to bed. Prepare your sailors, ladies, He was on the duty schedule this morning at 6:45a.m. and had to be up and out of bed by 6:00a.m. Welcome back to the Navy!
Cj has not called yet. after many fdelays in flight - I guess the plane was waiting for its crew to land. He has arrived in Chicago and has his bag. Got a ride to the base. I am still awaiting a call to see if he has a place to sleep.
I guess after reading your info Cindy I better go to bed. Take care see you all tomorrow.
My A is now in Pensacola. He was given a ride to the base with a "special ops guy"
