My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

We paid $60 for our sons bags to be checked on American. Will he have to pay for them when he leaves for A school?

We got home yesterday. I kept taking pictures of him while he slept. He was sick our whole trip home. He has been up and down during the night. He said he keeps thinking he has to get up to check on the port watchers. He said it is nice not to have to do that and hopefully he will stop waking up every two hours.

I planned  on driving B to school. She bought herself a train ticket and said mom, I don't want you driving all day and night to take me and get back home. And she was so grown up and take charge, WOW. So, while it's great to see these positive changes, it will be even harder to drop her off at the train station.

Oh no, my son is flying US Airways and I was hoping to go through the gate with A.  :(  I will be writing a letter also, if I am given the same answer on Sunday.

T flew US Airways and while they didn't charge him to check his bags they DID NOT let us go back to the gates with him.   I was HIGHLY upset.   When he flew out to Great Lakes we had this same issue with American Airlines and Delta actually gave us gate passes.   I'm actually in the process of writing US Airways and American because I think that is ludicrous.   The only way you can go back with them is if your sailor is being deployed.

T didn't order pics and I need to do that QUICKLY.   Has anyone else ordered AFTER graduation?

Ladies, it's always a pleasure communicating with you all.    Hope you are all well and enjoy a wonderful holiday.

To all of the incredible moms who are now a part of my life...whether I have just met you, or I have known you for the all the (really very few) months that this journey has so far lasted...I want you to know that you have both enriched my life and kept me sane!! I know that when I have questions or want to vent, this place and all of you will welcome me with open arms.

I wish you all the best over the next few days with your sailors and your families. Make memories to cherish, I will too, as I am sure that we will not have our kids for Christmas in the near future unless we are very lucky.

I will meet up with you all after the Christmas madness is over.

Hi my wonderful friends.  We are having a little down time right now, so I thought I would pop on.  A went with his 2 sisters and their bf's to see the Body Incredible exhibit today.  They invited me, but it's not something that I really wanted to see.

Welcome to all our new members.  On Monday, I will try to send out an email to welcome you all properly.  :)

A had a little trouble at the grocery store yesterday.  It was weird, because he was pretty much his ole self, up until then.  He was very agitated and nervous. He just kept saying that no one was thinking straight and he wished that they would realize that you are supposed to walk on the right.  I told him that since he was in such a controlled environment for the last 2 months, it was probably hard for him to remember what the Christmas rush was all about.  He was ok after we got back in the car.

As with all of you, I will probably be MIA for a couple of days enjoying my family time.  I will probably be back on Sunday night.  My A leaves on Sunday morning, my husband goes back to Maryland on Sunday afternoon and my daughter and her boyfriend (also a sailor) leaves on Tuesday to go to Hawaii for 2 weeks.  I will be saying a lot of goodbyes in the next few days.  :(

Have a blessed and wonderful Christmas.  I thank God every night for our gift of our sailors every day.  ((Hugs)) to you all.
