Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Cindy, sorry for your troubles :( J is flying American to A school - Whew! But I could walk down to the Delta desk and smack 'em around some if it would make you feel any better. :/
Thanks everyone! He flew DELTA....DO NOT FLY DELTA, the guy at the counter almsot didnt' let us go back to the gate with "E" either! I was disgusted! They did charge $25 for the seabag and would have for any other bags as well, we squished a duffle back into the 'checker' thing for carry on's just to make it fit so he would not have to pay another $25, I argued with the guy...he said "unless he was flying to a active duty station there was a fee." TO ME, "A SCHOOL" is active duty station...he has to be there! I was so angry...highly emotional the way it was ya know :)! Ugghhh, "E" just looked at me and said "MOM, stop, its OK I will pay it!" @Sharon...how lucky I wish I lived that close!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS LADIES! Enjoy your Sailors!! ((HUGS))
Cindy
Hi All! The next few days are going to be super busy but wanted to pop in and say I'll be back on regularly beginning Monday night. A leaves Monday morning - like all of you the count down clock is starting to tick and the sadness is beginning to creep in - so will not be on Sunday night with those who's sailors leave Sunday because I would be a mess for A's last night home. ((Hugs to each of you))! I might change my mind but even reading post today have me feeling blue - gotta bounce back and just enjoy these last few days with him home. His cough is still bad at night but he is holding his own and planning to go to medical for it and his knee when he gets to Groton. Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your Sailors! ((Hugs to you Cindy; I know its rough)).
Jessi, my A went to the movies and he got $2 off his ticket for military discount.
Thanks all. . . dress blues it is. J didn't pay for his seabag at all. He was in his civies when he traveled home from BC but the guy asked him (after seeing the seabag) if he was active military, J said yes, and both his seabag and garment bag were checked for free. I told him to ask everywhere he went this week if there was a military discount. One never knows.
Cindy - what airline did E fly? I'm just curious what to expect when J flies to A school (if it's the same airline).
Cindy, Wow, I'm surprised that they charged him for baggage. Which airline did he fly? My A is flying US Airways and they told me that they don't charge for military.
I'm so sorry he is still not feeling well.
Big ((Hugs)) to you. I can imagine how much you miss him already.
