My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

I spent the whole day with J today, he's back to himself, thank God. I was so worried. We got him a new android phone to go back to A School with. Put him on  my plan so that'll save him about $100 a month. I can't believe how quickly the time is going. I sure am dreading Monday as I'm sure a lot of you are. We have to enjoy them while we can though. God will take care of the rest.

I ran into some families who have Seal Candidates this morning at breakfast who didn't know about N4M. I started a discussion for them to check out and add to.

Hi everybody. So nice to meet you all. Had a nice little vacation. Did some shopping saw a movie and spent a day in Chicago. Took the train from Waukegan. Went to the aquarium (free for military) , Navy Pier (not too great this time of year) then had dinner ant House of blues.
H is doing well, did comment about not being able to make decisions. She is pretty tired and has a cold.

We had a crazy trip home. Flight leaving Milwaukee was delayed 30 min leaving us about 15 min to make connection in Minneapolis. They were only using 2 runways (de-icing one while using the other and trading to the other). Ended up circling for about an hour and everyone was missing their fligihts. Ours was still there and the gal at the booth got us a cart. Our gate was so far away we would have never made it in time. That flight was over an hour late loading, then had to wait to be de-iced. Finally landed at 3:50 this morning. If we had missed that flight we would have been there until tonight..

My son is in Cincinnati, wrapping up his visit with his paternal grandparents.  He had to make a side trip to Wright Pat to see a military doc about the cough and fever that just would not go away.  They put him on some meds and he's feeling a lot better.

My daughter was talking to her grandmother and she said that T told her that when he was standing at grad, he was doing just fine until he looked up and saw me crying in the stands.  He couldn't move so he just had to wildly swing his eyes to the left so he wouldn't lose it.  Hee!  I didn't think I was crying all that much, but apparently so.  :)

So, did anyone else notice their sailors squaring their corners when walking through the hotel halls?

I wanted to share this little story . . . after visiting family in WI and MN over the weekend (lots of pictures, lots of emotion) we went back to Milwaukee to fly home. We had another emotional moment at the airport last night - - J and his gf had their picture taken with Santa and after a brief conversation Santa shook J's hand and pulled him in for 'man hug' (still shaking hands and two hard pats on the back). They talked for a minute more, shook hands again, and parted. . . I asked him what that was about and he said that Santa was a Navy CB/Seabee too. Santa told him that this experience will change his life and always continue to make him a better man. He thanked him for his service to our country and J reciprocated.

After hearing the awesome coincidence that Santa was a Seabee, I went up to Santa and we chatted for a moment. He said J was fine young man and he was surprised at how quickly his emotions and pride came to the surface. I told him that my weekend was filled with much of the same. He hugged me, told me not to worry, that J was in good hands, and he was really glad to have met us. After exchanging merry Christmas’, we headed to our gate.

Santa went behind the cardboard-winterland-partition-thing and wiped his eyes.   Then I, of course, was an emotional wreck. I waved, Santa waved, both of us still trying to pull it together.

We've had about a dozen of those moments - that just sort of take my breath away. I am overwhelmed with pride.

What a fantastic weekend. So glad to meet everyone at the meet-n-greet. What a blessing n4m has been. Not a lot of folks understand, truly understand, what we've been through/are going through. My dad came to graduation and took a TON of pics. Can't wait to see them all - and to get the video. What a moving experience. When that garage door opened and they started marching in, I totally lost it - and I'm not sure I've really got 'it' back yet. But who needs composure anyway. Anyway - so awesome to meet you all and glad to have some peeps to share it with.

D is feeling better so no Dr for him! He also seemed a lot more relaxed last night. He was laughing a lot and joking around so this Momma is breathing a sigh of relief! He took his girlfriend to where he used to work so he could see some of his old friends and I and taking him shopping for her gift tonight :) Just Mommy and D time :)

Nancy - So glad you got the call:) Have a wonderful time! I can't wait to hear how PIR went.

Penny- I asked D about the Compartment Ninja and he started cracking up laughing and told me some good stories. Of course I got the standard "How did you know about that" lol They should know by now that we Navy moms know everything - Right Betsy ;)

Betsy - laughing about A wondering how you found out that he was talking to Kate. She is super sick right now :( Major sinus infection and was in bed almost all day yesterday.

Lori - That's awesome that A is getting together with a buddy :) I'm glad he is feeling better.
