Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Submarine Moms - I just posted information on BESS that you might enjoy reading in the Groton, CT Submarine School Dicussion forum above.
We spoke about the Doctors this weekend too, I think S should go, hes been coughing, S said that he needs to go to a Military Doctor or to a VA Hospital. maybe if you call your local VA office they may be able to answer your questions.
Susan - we are not sure if he just has to show his military ID or what; he doesn't have an "insurance card." I haven't removed him from my insurance yet so we have that in our hip pocket if need be.
I remember Anti M counseling us on our Sailor's disposition possiblities following BC especially since they typically do not have a 10-day leave, only a few days of liberty following the structured life in RTC. A said casual talking is a bit challenging after so many weeks of "not talking." Love them, hug them!!
Nancy, I knew you could work your magic. Thanks so much for the chat box. We are all on one group now. Woohoo!
I figure no one will monitor this but I am so use to calling him CJ I almost called him that in person.
LOL Maryland Mom. I think the initials are good to keep using. Some of our kids will have security clearances so it's probably just as well. I loved meeting you :)
So are we now allowed to call our kids by their names or should we still just use initals ? I have called him S for so long, that is how I addressed him earlier today !! What a look that brought out !!
Lori - If they go to the Dr do they just pay for it themselves? How does this work? Susan
Just got in today from IL with my daughter. She too is missing the people and structure of boot camp and is feeling a bit out of place around us civi's lol. I'm so thankful to have her home for Christmas. It will be very hard to take her to the airport on the 27th!!!
Hey Susan - hope D's cold is improving. A and Ash just went to the store to get some Vics Vapo and something else. I think he is going to Urgent Care tomorrow a.m. He was hoping to wait until he arrived in Groton to go to medical on base but his cough is really nasty!
