Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Cindy - Congrats to your E; and whoot whoot on his home visit and having it coincide with your Birthday. I'm so happy for you! Wow! Guam and Australia - exciting. Wishing you a wonderful 9 days!
Penny - Ash arrived in Groton and is very happily settled in. Her hotel is right on base and she is very happy with the room. She was pretty excited about the purse selection at the NEX! Very happy the 2 of them are having a great first day! I hope you meet she and A at graduation Friday.
Betsy - house hunting luck to you! I hope you find a very special new home to begin MD family memories. You will be visiting your A the same weekend I am visiting my A!
Nanny 2 - enjoy your Sailor and congratulations on his graduation!
Drew and I are settling in to watch a movie and then ordering dinner from Happy's Pizza. Its cold and snowy / rainy in Michigan so we are happy to be slugs on the couch in front of the television!
Yay Cindy! Sounds like things are really moving for E! Enjoy your time with him! N tried to tell me not to go to BESS graduation...said it was no big deal too! But I only live 31/2 hours so I can drive there for one night.
Cindy, I got choked up when I saw what you wrote about your daughter! My youngest son is 16 and he misses his brother fiercely! N actually came home this weekend because Alex called him and said he had a bad week and needed to see his brother!!!!
Have a nice evening ladies...I have to go back to school tonight for a function...then leaving tomorrow night for Groton! wahoo!

Cindy, that is great news about him coming home. Enjoy the time with him it goes by so quick! Isn't this weather in MN something else this year? I live here also. Snow, cold, than more snow! It doesnt want to stop. S is not able to come home for about a year yet :(. But it is easier than BC was. I miss him though. My daughter whos almost 5 keeps asking when her big brother gets to come home and play with her. It just breaks my heart at times..

Hello Ladies, Been a few days since I checked in...glad to hear everyone is doing well! E graduates A School Friday 3/18 if all goes well he will be flying home the same evening :) for 9 days (can't wait)...we will know "For sure" next Wednesday or Thursday when he actually gets his plane ticket (Its the Navy ya know :)). He is allowed to take these 9 days because he did not take it during the Holiday's when others did...and he will report to active duty right away(actually thinks the Ship will be on it''s way...they will fly him to it) near Guam and then on to Australia. I so wanted to join him in Florida for Graduation, but it is spring break time and prices are out of this world, for just 3 days, and my luck it would probably rain the entire time :)! Also, I wanted to save the vacation days to spend the time with him when he is home here, so the plan is to take 3/21 thru 3/25 off of work to be with him. He understands, and assures me "Mom, this graduation is not that big a deal ...just stand in a office and get a certificate!" So He says!!! He is excited and can't wait to come home (not as much as mom is :))! What an Awesome Birthday gift for Mom :), I couldn't share his with him since he was in Boot Camp...but I can share mine with him HoooooRA!...can't wait to HUG HIM!!!!!!!!!
Hugs to all of you!!! Miss you guys!
Cindy
Hugs to all of you...
Thanks everyone, we will drive up to his place Sunday to pick him up. Can't wait. D just called, waiting for graduation. I asked if they take pictures, of course he said "I don't know. Why?" Because this is a special event & mom wants at least 1 picture! Sometimes I wonder about guys, ok a lot of times, they do seem to be on a different planet. LOL He did say he was going to miss SD but he was ready to come home, he misses us & his friends here. Didn't think I would hear that.
Maggie, how scary. I hope is better soon. Let us know how he is doing. Prayers to you & your son.
Betsy, Good luck on your house hunting. Bummer having to change your trip. I pray that it all works out smoothly & quickly for you.
Cara, so glad that you finally got your call & passed inspection YAY! I told D today how easy he had it in SD compared to your guys. I asked about inspections, told him about blue cards, ect... He had know clue what I was talking about, so I guess it has been like vacation/school. LOL
