Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Oh no Maggie, ((hugs))
Ish-mom, Yay on passing his inspection.
nanny2, that's so exciting that your son is coming home. Woohoo! Yay for passing A school.
My A just started his A school today. He told me on the phone, "I'm so glad that I took Trigonometry in high school mom" Yikes, I would probably fail his A school. lol He has about 4 months of A school and then it's off to C school. I am now putting off my trip to see him in Pensacola until Easter weekend. I was hoping to go in early April, but I will now have to fly to Maryland to look for a house again.
My son did have such a good day. He was in a chamber (aircrew) at about an altitiude of 10,000. He couldn't get his ears to pop and he became very dizzy. Said the room was spinning. Went to the medical on base, waited two hours and then the pharmacy closed. Had to be driven to the hospital to get medicine. Has blood bubbles on his eardrums. Doctor said he made the right choice and got out when he do or it could have been much worse. However, when is better he can try again.
Just got a call from S finally today. They had an inspection this morning and he took a little hit on something in his room. Otherwise HE PASSED! He was so happy. He also received my carepack that I sent him. Happy Times! Hope all is well with you all.
Groton Penny, how awesome that you get surprise visits from your Sailor. I bet you are about to burst w/pride & joy. So happy for you. My son does text me, he just sent me a pic of the sun setting in San Diego, beautiful. My son graduates A school this wed & will be flying home on Thurs. Since he is in the reserves he will be coming home (he lives about 2 1/2hrs from us) so I am excited that we will be spending some time w/him next week. Then I guess we will see where his path takes him, back in college or ??
Maggie wish your son a Happy Birthday from the navy moms. Have a wonderful & safe trip.
Maggie...Congratulations! Have a safe trip and enjoy the weather.
Groton Penny....I love your point of view about don't take it personal. I'm so happy for you!!
Hello to Everyone. Very busy with work so I have't had a lot of opportunity to post anything. I usally scan through quickly to see what is happenin with the other sailors.
Leaving on Thursday to see my son in Pensacola. 71/2 hr. drive. Hubby and I are so excited. Think our son has been a little homesick. He's in Phase II right now.
Elizabeth - How did your son find out about the vehicle he purchased? Is there a place where this is posted at the base?
Glad you guys liked the video...I was crying the whole time and then had to watch it again...call me a glutton for punishment! =0
I got a text from N when they got back to Groton last night..."Hey, Mom...what was that bread you sent?" So I told him it was cranberry with chocolate chips...but in text you can't hear tone so I asked him if it was bad and he said, "No it's awesome! My roommate wanted to know what it was! " I couldn't take the smile off all night! :)
Hope you ladies get your calls...remember that they love hearing from us even if they don't respond back...I try to send a quick text/email/im that just says..."Thinking of you...or I love you" I know that they don't always respond, but they remember how much we love them and we support them!
I am blessed that N has been able to come home twice since he has been at Groton...but everytime he gets ready to leave, he gets really quiet, almost grumpy. It's like he has to get back to that military mindset so that he doesn't get emotional when he leaves. I've learned not to take it personally and just be so happy for the fact that he remembers how important home is...even if we have to play that game at the end of every visit.
Ladies, we are strong...we are military moms and we can be there for our sailors! ...and when it seems too impossible a task...we come here!
Love to you all!
Groton Penny
