Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Hi everyone...well T is a legal driving in the state of CT, he went to the DMV yesterday and got everything taken care of with the new car..phew. Just a little side note if any of your Sailors are buying cars in the state that they are currently stationed/assigned they may be able to get a waiver on the registration fee, T was able to obtain a waiver and only had to pay sales tax and the license plate fee....maybe that was why he wasn't meant to get his car registered the first time he went to the DMV...gotta look for the silver lining in the dark clouds sometimes. T went looking for a stereo for the new car with a couple of his friends, some how he ended up separated from the friends and the next time they met up in the store 2 of the guys bought the stereo for T's car....aawww I wanted to cry at how thoughtful those other Sailor's are, either that or they were tired of hearing T singing in the car and figured they had to do something quick.
So happy for all the Groton Sailor's passing their BESS final...yippee...next week graduation...I'm so excited :o)
Lori - how sweet that your Sailor sent you Navy gear and flowers when he came home on the weekend...you raised a really awesome young man!!!!
Betsy - hang in there with the "house" closing situation, I've worked with relocation companies and they don't mess around, I just recently did a closing with a relocation company and they actually did a report card on me personally...so they do stay on top of everything and everyone.
CJ's mom - I will be thinking about you and your Sailor, I agree with Nanny2 maybe he feels a little overwhelmed and homesick, I think alot of the Sailor feel that way at times....I know my son has gone through the homesickness and it is a heart breaker for us at home.
Ok gotta run....hope everyone has a great weekend :o)
Lori, what a nice surprise! I'm w/Betsy I would like to see pics of the Navy mom clothes. Can we order online I wonder? I bought the navy blue hoodie @ graduation wish I had some t-shirts now.
Penny, positive thoughts & prayers to you & Cj. I know how hard it is to ignore that gut feeling about your child but try to stay positive. Maybe like Betsy said, its just the one test. Is it possible he could be feeling overwhelmed, homesick? I will send prayers your way.
Congrats to the Groton Sailors!!!
Lori, awwww, that's so sweet of A.
Penny, ((hugs)) maybe he just struggled with that one test? I know that they have people available to help them study. I would just hope that he will be back on his way soon.
Nothing new to report on this end. I guess Cj called home the other day. He told his brother he is on hold from his A school. He needs to retake a test. I guess he must of failed it. Anyway he can not go on to his HT training until he passes. Now I know why he hasn't called me because he probably feels he would get a lecture.
I am trying not to be negative but I get the feeling my kid is messing up big time.. He use to keep close tabs on everything and now it is avoiding everyone and not telling the truth. So we will see what happens.

Wahoo!!! Yay for the Groton Submariners! N texted me right in the middle of the day,he was so excited...posted that they were celebrating tonight...so Lori I'm wondering if he is headed to Red Lobster with A? :)
Loved catching up on everyone! I've been sooooooo busy but I'm trying to pop on and check in on everyone...even if I don't leave a message...know that I'm checking on all of you...laughing and crying with you!
In Great Lakes I bought some NAVY mom clothes and I love wearing them! :)
Take care everyone!

WOW! Lots of news! Congrats to our sailors buying their 1st car on their own. What a proud and nervous moment. Elizabeth - uggghhh! Very frustrating. Betsy - glad the house activities are moving along. I hope you find some nice digs for 7 weeks - pool / hot tub - wink wink! ((Hugs)) to you - I hope A is feeling better by now.
I typed a post yesterday and somehow hit my back key and lost it! So reposting something today.
A had his final exam and passed with an exceptional score so he is elated. He is off to Red Lobster with his buddies to celebrate. I'm so proud of him. BESS graduation is next Friday - Whoot Whoot for my Sailor.
I got a nice surprise in the mail today - a pink Navy hoody! I just love it. What a treat. I threw it on and it fits perfect. Can't wait to sport my new pink Navy wear :-) Ashley leaves the 8th to go see our boy! I'm so excited for her and for A that they get some time together and enjoy BESS graduation as well.
I'm super duper busy with work lately so I seem to not get on much; will try to do better. I too am wondering about our Newest lil Sailor - Priscilla is probably very busy these days!
Jacque - hopefully your J will enjoy his next phase in the Navy; proud of your boy for doing so awesome!! Congratulations!!
((Hugs)) to each of you - Lori
