My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Also, today when I checked his bank account, $46 had been deposited.  This is crazy.

I had mentioned in a previous comment that my sons pay on 2/1/11 was quite short.  Less than a week of pay.  I have asked him about it a couple times.  I told him to go to his commander but I think he is afraid to.  I don't know what to do.

Penny, ((Hugs)) to you.  I'm sure today was bittersweet and brought back some memories for you.  Thanks for sending A a card, I know that will make him happy. Did Cj ever say if he got all of our cards?

Well I sent Tk off on his flight already this morning. Go figure one Navy DEP leaving today one tomorrow and one on Wednesday.. Why could they not go together.

@ Lori I am not sure if I understood correctly but the Army Recruits can keep their cell phone at Basic and use it to make a weekly phone call home. Hear that WEEKLY - not sure if that was true. But that is what the recruit I was talking to today said. BTW the Captain who swore in my son in October also swore in TK today and he remember me. Hmmm I wonder if that is good or not. Anyway it was a sad but good day after all.

Betsy.... Hugs to you..... I too had spent CJ's birthday without him for the first time. It was hard as well. I sent him a card. Hope it gets it today but probably tomorrow. Maybe you all can skype today and get a virtual hug

Good Morning ladies, Well, today is my A's 19th birthday and I didn't realize that I would take it so hard.  I'm a mess.  This is the first birthday that we have spent apart.  :(

Also, in addition to following the speed limit, talking/texting on your cellphone while driving on base is prohibited. Texting while driving is illegal in all of San Antonio (new law just passed) ...Not that any of you ladies text/drive at the same time ;)
Comment by CJ's Mom on February 7, 2011 at 12:32am
Anita does that mean you will have to make sure when your on base not to be speeding...
Comment by priscilla; FC wife on February 6, 2011 at 10:11pm

Anita: N can't find hot fudge pop tarts in SA? I just ate some. :P Let me know if he needs help finding anything in town. :)

This is my first baby - totally scared/nervous/excited. Already got my hospital bag packed. I'll add & message you.
