My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Lori, ((hugs)) from me.  You are such a wonderful mom!  We will be your Army moms as well.  It's a military thing.  :)

Elizabeth, that's awesome about the Molly's Adopt a Sailor party!  I do know what that is and you will have a blast.  It's a great way to get to know other moms.  Have fun.  We actually did packing parties at my house for a couple of years, when my youngest daughter was in high school.  We would have about 20 of her friends at our house.  It would last all day, because they would also bake homemade cookies to put in there too.  She even got some letters of thanks from some of the soldiers, as well as pictures of them or their squadrons.

On Feb 12, I'm going to a Molly's Adopt A Sailor packing party, I'm pretty excited about it has anyone gone to a packing party? I'm hoping to meet some other Navy mom's in my area I've been feeling a little lost lately not knowing where I fit in with my friends and family in my adjustment of being a Navy mom.

Drew was sworn in at MEPS today to enlist in the U.S. Army - he begins his journey May 15, with BTC at Fort Lee in Virginia.  He then does AIT (like our A school) in South Carolina at Fort Jackson I believe.  I added link that describes his job.  Starting the emotional roller coaster all over.  This time - for some reason - its tougher.  I have lots of tears and concerns.  Didn't feel this way with my Sailor; probably because he is older.  The Army makes be think combat more than when I think of Navy.  Either enlistment has risks.  So I'll be counting on my girls to get me though.  I think I'm going to be a big baby getting through letting Drew go.  Sniff Sniff
