Since we are now able to send packages, wouldn't it be great if we shared our creative ideas of what we intend to send to our sailors?

My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Hi Rose, good to "see" you again. :)
Priscilla, Wow, you are on the homestretch now. I'll start saying prayers now for a safe delivery and healthy baby.
Wendi, Awwww, ((hugs)) It must be so hard for them when they see things that remind them of home.
Anita, Woohoo! You are so close to seeing your baby. I admit that I'm kinda jealous of you and Susan. :)
I was also kinda disappointed that the Keel wasn't more personal. The sailors in the white dress uniforms were a dead give away. lol
I'm still without water again today. :( I'm hoping that it gets warm enough today to melt the ice in our pipes.
Somehow I didn't think they would take taxes out of pay for military.
H's check was about $400 less than last months 1st check.
She says she is getting ready to buy a car this week. Getting loan from credit union.
Said she saw a red velvet cake in a store and it made her miss me. We have a thing for red velvet cake.
Hey all!!
YEA BETSY!!! Love that picture of your food from you Sailor how sweet!! Thanks for the prayers but N's orders are on HOLD. They won't get them till next week, so no interview today either. A friend said it is that Hurry Up and Wait! So sorry for ALL OF THAT SNOW you all have gotten. We actually got more here today but just like 3 inches. I am soo READY FOR SPRING!! We got the Keel several days ago and I thought it would have all of the divisions in it, but only had our division and his Bro. division. It was nice but I wish it had been more personalized to our GRADUATION. But oh well!! Will keep you all posted , we will go to San Antonio on the 23rd. Can't wait to see my Son.!!!
S pay was short too, he said the problem went all the way back to BC, but i believe its all straightened out now, as for the W-2 - i asked him tonight and he said that he needed to go online and print it out. probably thru the payroll system web site.
Thanks Betsy for the Update on the Keel - Hope it comes soon
Lori - Congrats to Drew, I saw a few pages back you said Army, very happy for him altho I wouldnt want to be in your house during the Army/Navy Football Games :)
Hello, I don't post too much but I'm always here reading. Nice to hear everybody is doing fine.
Priscilla....Nice to hear about you, do you have your baby already. If congratulations and is a boy or girl. I can't remember if you mention it.
About pay......A least for Groton, my son told me that happen once a month. They take all that money to pay the kids food. As you can see nothing is free. lol. Expected to see it once a month, still he is happy with the pay. Harder in the ones that are married/with kids, uff!!!
Susan...I'm glad you are having a wonderful time. I can wait to see my Jo next month (God first).
Groton....a little slow.....my son finally getting yellow tomorrow. He already has his civilian clothes.
Lori, wow, I bet he does look different. I bet he is even more handsome than ever. That's is wild about those shirts. It's good to know that they run small, though. I'll have to remember that when I order something.
I'm still waiting for my pipes to thaw. The water company came and put a sterno stove in the main water area, but so far nothing. I have been running my heat high (against the Governor's wished.) running my fireplaces and I have put a small space heater in the garage where the line comes in the house. It's crazy out here these last couple of days. The schools have been closed all week, but two of those days were because of the low temperatures. Some of the towns around us have no natural gas, so they are closing the schools in Albuquerque, including the University of NM, to conserve gas. Last night's low in my town was -8.
