My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Ladies, Just a thought, but I am going to burn my blue candle for the families and friends of those who are graduating from BC this Friday.  My prayers go out to them, as they try to make their journey to GL.

Bets - good to hear Gunnar arrived in MD safe and sound!  Stay home and off the roads.  I hope you have lots to do pr maybe Netflix Instant Que.

Here in MI they do take care of the roads well - the only problem with as much snow as is predicted, they can't clear it fast enough.  I sure am glad I have my new snow blower!  Drew will help me too.  The drifting will be a concern - time will tell how bad it might be.  My plan is to work from home tomorrow so no worries!

Lori, ((hugs)) stay safe and warm tomorrow. Do they deal with the roads ok where you live? If you get bored, you will know where to find me. That sounds like a cute theme for his Valentine's Day box.

It has been snowing here consistently all day, but we only have about 4 inches out there right now. They are closing roads everywhere out here, because of the ice that is under the snow. Predictions are for 2 to 4 more inches tonight, but who knows?  I am just happy that Gunnar arrived in Maryland before their ice storm began.

On the subject of Popeye the Sailor Man - I found a popeye grey t-shirt at Walmart this weekend.  I bought it to add into A's Valentines package.  His Kmart popeye boxers arrived today but he didn't have time to grab them after class.  Hope he finds them as humorous as I do.  Groton is expecting ice / snow tomorrow.  The entire U.S. is having some rough weather.  We are expecting a foot of snow where I am in Michigan followed by high winds to add some drifting to the mix with very chilly temps to boot!  Hoping to work from home tomorrow.

Oh my, Donna, ice?  Yuck!  My husband is flying back to Maryland today.  I hope his plane can land ok.

We woke up to maybe 2 inches of snow and getting about 3 inches more tonight.  I know that's not bad at all, considering what other parts of the country are going to have this week.  But it's the temperatures that are crazy here now, it's 15 degrees and going down as the day continues.  They are predicating a low temperature of -3 tonight.  Be safe everyone.  My prayers are with you all.

Hi everyone

I am a day late on conversations, but I asked H about getting reinbursed fr travel and he said she won't get anything because she didn't pay for the tickets...my mom bought them for her. H is paying her back though.

Have a safe trip to Pensacola. I wish I was going. I would love to see my girl. So much is going on I can't keep up with her. She had 3 hour watch this morning in the rain. She is keeping busy with friends, I hope she is doing well in school.

thanks Betsy - yes, I found that Army parents site but it doesn't seem to be as interactive as Navy for moms.  I will study it more.  Enjoy the Lentil stew!  Way to go Nancy - Adam is ET - Radio Control.  Penny, yours and my sailors all have different jobs.  Rose's son I believe is that same as my sailor.  Wonder about Elizabeth.  How exciting - they are progressing.  Do all rates / jobs need security clearnance.  A hasn't said a thing.  Hmmmmmm.  Yes, Nancy, it will be interesting to see what the differences are between Army / Navy.  I'm gong to buy a shirt that shows the dividied yet united loyalties - Cafe Press has them.  Will wait until his unofficial swearing in and then buy one.
