Stacey, ((hugs)).  I'm so glad that you and Tj were able to sort things out tonight.

Nancy, yeah, I'm with you.  I'm pretty sure that my A would not go for matching tats either.  lol  This is so cool that he posted the picture of your care package items.

Have you guys noticed that we all seem to come back to the conversation of underwear?  When they came home from BC, it seemed to be a big topic too.  lol  Are we great moms or what?

Wow you guys have kept me in stitches... I keep imaging the look on IBs face if I told him I wanted to get matching tattoos... I LOVE the idea, but I don't see him going for it. He and his sister were going to get tattoos while he was a depper, BUT his recruiter told him not to until he was in, so I imagine it is only a matter of time now.
Elizabeth, the Popeye boxers are hysterical!! Where did you get a pattern?? Did you make it up? And I agree with Betsy, a picture would be awesome...
Penny, it is interesting about the inspection, and kinda sad in a way. If she is going to send him back, at least have a reason. :-(

So IB got his box that I sent FINALLY, and didn't really seem too grateful. Told me when everything got there, but wasn't as happy as I'd hoped. THEN his brother told me that IB had spread everything out on his bed and taken a picture of the "loot" and posted it on Facebook. So I guess he was happier with it than he let on, and that made me feel a lot better!!

Hi all!! I had a heart to heart with my son tonight about family and priorities. Poor kid i just wanted to make sure he kept in touch more.... especially with his brothers and sisters and we ended up getting into a deep conversation that lead to me crying and him pretty choked up too. i guess I needed it because I felt better afterwards. I just miss him soooo much!! He was such a great kid around the house and the best big brother ever.

Anyways I think i opened his eyes a little, which I think as a mom is what we need to do every once in  while for our kids.

I love the tatoo posts. I told TJ his first one had to have MOM in it, lol, not sure if he knew i was kidding!! we will see!!

I am now inspired to learn how to sew so i can make Popeye boxers too!!

Penny- I think TJ would feel the same way about me meeting his friends, lol.

Love and ((HUGS)) to you all.

Cindy, maybe you could suggest that E lose some weight?  LOL  I will tell A about the pool hall and maybe they could plan to meet there.

Penny, that is funny about Cj's inspection.  lol

Elizabeth, you should post a picture of the boxers.

OK you guys...I can't find any Popeye Boxers online, all the one's are "Small" :( !
Comment by CJ's Mom on January 23, 2011 at 4:38pm

I like the idea of making the boxers I think I will make some for Cj as well. I use to make all his clothes and his brothers while they were growing up.

The tatto thing is a cool idea but Cj would not like it if his mom had the same as he. He thinks I am weird enough.

The inspection they had last night was on his boots only. Their ships boots have been bad so it was the whole group. He had chow duty yesterday and had to wear his dress blues - was sent to his room by a petty officer (female with BLONDE hair) (emphasis is CJ's) because it was not quite right. He went to his room and sat for a 1/2 hour and came back. (he says he did not change anything) Anyway then she said okay he looked good. Oppsss. :)

I was telling him I might come to GL for a weekend so we could go into Chicago and do some fun stuff. He said I would have to go to the base and become his Liberty Buddy - he can't leave the base with out one. So I suggested he invite a friend and they be liberty buddies and we could all hang out. He started laughing hard. He said Mom I don't want my friends to meet you... (hurt look on my face) Because then they would know why he was so weird... I think I resemble that remark. Not sure though. Anyway it was good to hear him laugh and crack jokes. But he kept saying over and over mom I miss you and Ilove you mom...  I miss him too.

Thank you for not making me feel like a weirdo....T and I got matching anchor tatoo's right after he DEP'd in over the summer...I didn't share the info because I had a friend who kindof laughed at me when I told her, so I thought I was a crazy wackyo mom, it just made me feel like I had a connection with T when he left for BC because it was only he and I that had the same tatoo and anytime I really missed him I would look at my tatoo and know he was right there with me...kind of weird but it mad me feel better...I told him that we would add to it as time went on with the Navy, so hopefully down the road we will add the submariner dolphin symbol....thank you for sharing your tatoo stories now I know that I am not a weirdo.  And Snowy Cindy I totally understand when you say thank goodness your kids names are only 4 letters....this was my first tatoo and I said to they guy I want it small he said its not going to change the price, I wanted to say I know but it will change the pain... ;o)

I finished the Popeye boxer's last night...the are super cute.

Morning Ladies!

@Wendi...OMG E and I got Tattoo's together last Thanksgiving too, for his 18th Birthday, and to honor my Mother and Father who both passed away that year...his was a cross with "In loving Memory and their names on a ribbon laying on the cross (very nice) and mine was my Mom's Rosary as a ankel bracelet with their initials and my kid's names spelled out on the beaded part going around my ankle (thank heavens my kids names are both 4 letters, and I only have 2 children :) !!  He is planning on getting one in Florida...just runs out of time whenever he has time :)! The Navy anchor sounds great...what a beautiful thing to have together! One's enough for me ;)!

@ Betsy...Sorry, I know your probably freak'en out ;) :) :) :) !!!!! So glad you and A skyped ...E and A still have not connected :( . E would like to meet A face to face first he says...apparently there are some sailors their that well hmmmm, you know, are not all so nice to know, and he feels weird 'friending' someone he doesn't know' just because "mom says so!" ;) ??? He is not taking my word for 'hes a great guy' so accept him as a friend on FB :) :) ! He did say he would send him a message to get together, but then he got sick! Does A play pool? I know E and the guys he hangs out with hang out in the pool hall...E wants me to send him his Pool Stick...or do they call that a Pool Q, lol??? I am pleased with the guys he is hanging around with 2 are older...one is a N4M son and N4M wife and Lori knows them too, and her A is friends with 2 I believe (JB & ZB)...So PROUD he has such positive Roll models. Even though E is younger he has always been more mature for his age, so has always been drawn to the older and wiser...praying that is a good thing :) !!

@ Pheobe, thanks for checking in, this site ( the ladies) has also been my savior since October!!! I so need my daily fill...or I feel lost!!!

Geeez think I rambled on enough for now...guess I miss you guys, haven't "chatted' in a a few nights ;)!
