My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Thanks for the update Betsy! I am so glad it made him laugh :D !! I sent, I think 4 bags of caramels ...I forgot how many guys were in his Room, but if he keeps them all to himself...that's OK too :)! I hope they meet up.

@Wendi, ((hugs as well)! She will come around ...don't worry! She probably is thinking you need a break from being the mom, and letting you have one :)!

Pheobe, I m there with ya....I text often and wish I could stop :) I figure...if he doesn't like it, he wouldn't respond LOL! I so appreciate getting the "Night...Love you" text!! I am sure that will change when School Starts. @ Betsy, I think E will want the night courses too, he was the same way, Noon -1:00 he was dragging himself out of bed after HS!!

Donna, it's so good to "see" you again.  Some of us are on the chat pretty much nightly, so if you get a chance pop in.

Cindy, A said he loves the candy and laughed out loud at the card.  He just sent a friend request to E on FB, so he said he will try to meet him soon.  :)  That was so super sweet of you.  ((hugs))

Wendi, ((hugs))  Since H is doing so well independently, I think that shows that you obviously did an awesome job with her.  :)

Phoebe, it is hard trying not to call and text them, isn't it?

Speaking of communication, A said that he is starting his ATT class tomorrow, so he's happy about that.  They needed a class leader and he volunteered for it.  :)  He has also been officially designated as a "day sleeper" since his classes are from 1500 to 2300.  Considering the fact that on the weekends, during high school, he never appeared before noon, I guess he was well-prepared for that.  lol

Wendi I understand and feel your frustration about H. My son Cj is like that too. He has found a new life with out his parents. It has been hard for me because he is the baby and he grew up too fast. I have had contact with Cj but it is more grunts and whistles as I call the one or two word comments.

Hope we adjust soon other wise I will be stuck in the remembering and not moving forward with my own life.

Good Morning all you wonderful ladies,  Not much to report.  Kinda slow but I think of you often and hope you are coping with the "new normal", again. I joined the yahoo group and will post my son's address.  I have been trying to keep busy on projects around the house and it keeps my mind off of bugging my sailor with e-mails and texting.  I need to continue to let go.

I check in daily to read up on what is going on in your lives. I like all the different discussion forums that have been started.  Thank you!  Hope this finds all of you having a grand day...

I am still around too. I check in everyday just don't have much to report. I takled to Heidi on Friday and that is about it. She is too busy playing to keep in touch. We had more contact when she was in bootcamp. Not happy about it but what can you do?

Hello to all my Navy Moms !! I just cant seem to get the time in the evening to get on here. It drives me nuts !! I miss our chats !!

Hate to hear of all the snow everyone is getting. We have dodged a few storms here lately. Just picking up a dusting or a few inches. Winter is not for me !!

Glad everyones Sailor is getting the hang of things now. It is so nice to be able to make contact. I still have not gotten a package to S. I have learned a few tricks from everyone else though : ))   Thanks for that !! Have a great day !!

Comment by Nancy on January 12, 2011 at 10:24pm

Lori, I noticed that it is mostly you, Betsy, and Penny with a little bit of me thrown in. :-) I am sure everyone is busy with the snow (most of you) and also there is a feeling that the kids are OK, and we are able to keep in touch with them ourselves so there is not as much reason to come here and check out the info.

However; I DO want to keep in touch with all the wonderful moms who have become such good friends and I hope they check in every so often.

Hello everyone! No Penny here either :( Booooohooooo!!!

Any mail to "A" yet Betsy, haven't heard from you...just curious? It's OK if he thought it stupid...I get it :o)!!

Susan, I sent you an email with an invitation.  I used the email address on your FB. Maybe that one wasn't correct?  There is a link to the Yahoo group above the fridge to the left.  We have a calendar of birthdays in yahoo and would like to also put our sailors' addresses in there, so we can send cards and letters.

I would be happy to go back to work too.  Yikes!  I hope you get some meltdown soon.  ((hugs))

Nancy, the board isn't as active as it was recently, but maybe some will ladies will check in this weekend.  We can get them on there then.  :)

Yahoo groups?
We are still dealing with ice. School is closed again tomorrow for the fourth day! Thankfully I went back to work. Driving me crazy being stuck inside!
