My daughter is newly stationed at Goose Creek. I'm glad I found this site. My navigating skills around this area are rough. Any suggestions about how to communicate more efficiently?

Haven't been on for a while. Busy busy, but wanted to touch base and let you know my youngest son is also joining the Navy. He went to see a recruiter last week and goes to meps on the 31st of the month. J told him to do it now because bootcamp was going to be 13 weeks instead of 8 so he better get it over with. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Hmm oh well. Guess we'll see what the Lord has planned for my boys.

Cindy, I can't wait to meet her. :)
For all of us who use Skype to communicate with our sailors, have you tried OoVoo? If you want to do a free group chat, you can do it on OoVoo.com, but only the first 30 days are free. :( (Skype charges initially for group chats) My husband, A and I just did it from 3 different states. It was awesome! My husband is in Maryland, I am in New Mexico and A is in Florida. Isn't today's technology the best?

Thanks Betsy and Cindy! I do feel proud but not because of my involvement with Brit but because she is growing into such a beautiful young lady. I am so blessed to be a part of her life and watch her go from hurt and pain into something of joy. I have grown to love her as one of my own.

I will be introducing her to you all soon because I want her to get the support she will need before her boyfriend leaves. They plan to marry after his A school and before he goes to BUDS Training.

Penny, that is so awesome about the couple.  You have obviously been a wonderful mentor to her.  You should be proud of yourself.

Wendi, I'm so glad that you H is doing so well.  Way to go, Dad!  ((hugs))

Happy weekend everyone. H said she has graduated from Core. I guess her phase one lasts until 1/22. I actually got to have a conversation with her yesterday. Lately when I call she sounds like I am bothering her. She sais she is having a life. She is making a lot of friends and hanging out. Her dad sent her a facebook message yesterday 'CALL YOUR MOM"

wow is it ever quiet here!!

I spent a lovely evening with a young lady who I have been mentoring for three years. She is engage to be married with a young man going into the Navy. He will be going into Sepcial Operations. He graduated in Dec and she will graduate in May. She was accepted into college for this fall and I can't be more proud of her. Three years ago she was 16 and her both her parents were in prison and she was in foster care. Now I see her life full of excitment and great things.  They are a delightful young couple.
