For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In one of his last emails a couple of weeks ago, he did say he was thinking about being an SAR swimmer. At this point it's an add on activity to his other duties. In one he mentioned swimming with dolphins, sharks & saw a whale. In another, he mentioned doing a free dive. He got down to 75 feet. He couldn't believe how cold & dark it got after 30 feet. Scary, but he got thru it. He was a track star in High School so has been a caged bird. He was a lifeguard for the Boy Scout camp summer before last. While I think he loves swimming & diving, think being at sea not being able to run has gotten to him.

hope4answers-- thanks for the info. Our son did mention that he will probably become quite proficient at scraping and painting. Our next door neighbor was a diver in the Navy. Is that something your son would like to do?

My son is S-PACT on the LPD Somerset. He certainly knows how to scrape & paint now. He's been able to do a lot of SAR swimming lately, free diving. Is there a rate for that?

Hello! Our second son just graduated boot camp and will be headed for the LPD Anchorage . He is S-PACT and currently trying to decide which rate to strike towards. I have another son that is on a sub. I know I have lots to learn if I am going to have a surface sailor and a deep sailor. Lucky me! Looking forward to meeting others with loved ones that are "amphibious".

My sailor is in Beach Command so it is different for him when on a ship. He is a passenger, just like the Marines. I just heard from him for the first time in 17 days!Whohoo!

Cheryl, Kimberly, Joe&NatesMom and everyone - every post is a good thing, whether to celebrate or to question something, or whatever, so let's keep in touch here! I was in San Diego today at the Navy base - first time there. Different from Norfolk but very cool nevertheless to be on a pier and see our awesome Sailors!
