whew. we are finally back from leave. Well yesterday. It was a lonnggg but short time. We missed seeing some people but we ate out with someone almost everyday at lunch and dinner. We got to spend more time with my family then we hve in the past so it made me really happy because my Dad had to leave for part of the first week for a job and then halfway through to go to Canada for work. I am so happy to be back in my own house though. I hate staying with other people and in other people's houses. Now off to complete the million chores I need to do so I can start looking for a job here in VA.
Teresa- He will be going back to the ship at the pier for awhile. Ben has been laying his head at a friend's house who lives off base. He said that is better than being on the ship after 8 months at sea.
Hi all, still enjoying our sailor man!!! hope all is well with you all:)
OMGoodness! I had forgot about the chicken dance!!! Made me smile :)
The group has been quiet but everyone has their sailors again. Well, they are able to talk to them anyway! It got very quiet after the last deployment and then picked back up again when they got ready to leave this deployment.
Linda, give your sailor a hug for me and tell him Thank You for his service for me please! Hopefully I can come visit sometime and get to meet your sailor! Meeting moms that have become very dear friends on here is on my bucket list :)
Nellie Bee I am glad to hear you are ok!! I know that storm must be crazy because last night it was flooding our front yard!!! The streets were non existant up here in Hampton VA! I was not expecting it to hit that bad here. Thanks for the well wishes ladies! We are making the drive straight through lol! 22 hours but after 34 hours home from WA this will be easy as pie! My pup channing is coming with us and she does not do hotels. she barks at every little sound because she thinks they are triyng to eat me lol! :) Kim how is the weather down your way? ;) do you have Addie soon? are you free anytime during the weekdays?
Good morning ladies! Today is my daughter's first day back at work. It was a great visit with her when she was on leave. She went to New York for a week with her boyfriend to visit his family and then came to Illinois to visit me and then Missouri to visit her dad and the rest of my family. I also schedule a get together with my family so that all of us can see her and hang out. It's only my brother and his family, and my sister and her family, so I don't have a ton of people to invite. I'm sorry for the ones of you that didn't have such a great leave with your sailor. Alex and I had our knock down drag out, I hate you mom, I don't want to be around you mom, April of the year she graduated (2 years ago), so now we have worked past that and actually have an awesome relationship now and she wants to spend some time with me. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not totally "smart" again, but I'm on my way of being there again! LOL Her and her boyfriend both bought vehicles while on leave and drove from St. Louis to Hampton - 13 hours. Personally I DO NOT like driving and get quickly bored after about an hour - 4 hours at a time is probably my limit, but they made it in 2 days, just stopping one night. Although I already miss her, I am like y'all and just happy that we are not countries and bodies of water away from each other.
Megan safe travels and your little sister sounds like a lot of fun! Have a great day everyone!
I heard a couple days ago and she said they were prepared for the worse and praying for the best.Hopefully this storm isn't as intense and it is further west of her.
Prayers for safe travels for you Meagan and for your sailor kimbas. Enjoy the time with your families, all of you that get to see them now or soon! I'm still waiting on when I get to see mine. He has been busy working and getting settled in his barracks. He's so happy to be back on US soil!
Woot Son arrives tonight, and I've been crying even before he comes home, granted tears of happiness but feel like something is wrong with me LOL. Soo glad for all of you that enjoyed your time with your sailors, I know it will go quick maybe thats part of why I'm weepy. Meagan my son isn't getting off till 4 either but he packed yesterday so he can leave right away for airport. Have loved reading all your posts tho I don't always comment you've all been my strength thru all of this and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
I am soooooo excited! We finally get to go home and see our families!! YAYY!! My mom said my baby sister keeps running to the door asking if we are home yet!!! <3 I just wish they would let him off early today to leave but he was told even though he wont have anything to do he will have to stay to 4 oclock ugh! Most depts I guess are getting off as soon as they go muster. or shortly after. I just want to get started lol! its a 22 hour drive so the sooner we can leave the better!
