my 7 1/2 year step grandson was taken to the hospital by ambulance tonight. It is such a long story, but the condensed version is this:
5 heart surgeries since birth, got the swine flu last fall which led to severe pneumonia and many other problems. the docs sent him home 2 weeks ago because they couldn't do anymore for him.

would you please pray for Little Ray and his family? thanks ladies.

What a sad thing about this young sailor! I hope the drunk was caught also. I just signed the guest book, thanks for posting it Lynn!.

Stephanie, how wonderful to receive flowers for your 1st mother's day! I bet that baby is kicking away.

Dolly, thanks for letting me know about the post. I asked my son first-he likes to keep a low profile. oh well, we keep in touch by email. that will have to do. haha.

CS sorry to hear about your daughter. will pray for her.

does anyone know this? when you order a blue star flag from Grantham, it says you must confirm the email. But when I looked at it, I don't see anywhere or how to confirm the order. Did anyone else do that?

Stephanie, that is so wonderful! What an amazing man you have! Too sweet!

Lynn, prayers for the sailors family. How tragic.

I watched a boat show last night and saw your daughter 2 x's Dolly actually giving a shout out to you. I think I saw a different one.

Didn't someone say that we could post a message on the Lincoln fb page for our children for mom's day? I couldn't find anything about that. HELP

Dolly!!! awesome letter. Lynn, thanks for getting the hotel information. I'll be sending them a letter.
I know how tired we are on a road trip, and to think that young sailor was turned away is just not right. Dolly, you said it right-if they can bear arms to protect, then they can sleep.

Lorriane, you brag away. we are all proud of our sailors! I'm going to watch the boat show.

Dolly, pm me your emaill address. I might have a fabric deal for you.

Lorraine, brag away! I am also so very proud of my son!

sorry my clicker hit the comment button

Anyway, the training they go thru is extensive. I have such admiration for these guys. They just added 16 names to the wall of the EOD Memorial in Florida. Those are the ones that lost their lives in the line of duty. I consider Shannon one of my kids and he is definitely one of my heroes. The last deployment he was on, his little girl was standing in line a Walmart with her mom and some lady asked her what her Daddy did and she told her "My Daddy is away from home making sure that my Mom, my unborn baby brother, me and even you are safe from terrorists" She was 4. Her mom said she had never been more proud of her.

I sent my letter to the Marriott. I told them that if they banned anyone under the age of 21 from renting a room because someone did something stupid, would they also ban 35 year olds who got drunk and loud and 75 year olds for backing into someone in the parking lot. I also told them that my sailor nor myself would ever stay in another Marriott until their policy was changed.

EOD guys are the bravest ever!! We have a close friend who is EOD and the training they go thru is so hard. He has gone in with Marines and SEALS. They have to be able to dive, repel, jump out of planes, helicopters

It all makes sense now, why the local recruiting office (in my rural community) has big giant showy posters touting the EODs!! I kept trying to figure out the Navy-connection. Now I get it. I am obviously incredibly grateful that my 3 boys have not caused me to be a frequent visitor at the ER or the local Fire dept. Man oh, man! You ladies are tough. My mom and dad drove my brother to the er after he had a small boat run over his legs with a propeller. I would not have been able to: drive or comfort.

great pictures Kim and have a fun day with grandbaby! Lynn, I think you should get the exact location of that Marriott hotel, so we can all write them an email and "scold" them. That could've been all of our children and I just wondered how far that sailor then had to drive before he could get some sleep. That's a bad and dangerous situation that the hotel placed him in. I'd write.

Did you all hear that the 3rd Navy seal was acquitted? PTL. I had an opportunity to write to the admiral on that case and I told him as a Navy mom that I was ashamed of him for what he was trying to do to those 3 seals. So thankful they were all acquitted.
This country has run amok with the political correctness.

Okay, I'll get off my soap box. Dolly, would you pm me your emaill adrress. I have a fabric deal that I might be able to get for you.

Heads at Ease just got approval yesterday for the last unit that was at Ft Hood the day of the terrorist attack. there are 830! This is our biggest project to date. We have done the other unit, plus the wounded, plus some very special embroidered ones for the families of the fallen,'
This unis is also in need of toiletries. If anyone would like to do up a box of toiletries, let me know.
