Mary, out of that whole sea of blue cammies and you can pick out your son! That is just a hug from God! What a great surprise. I told Ethan that I look on the Lincoln's Facebook page at pictures, so if he was to see someone with a camera around to smile cuz he might be in the background of one of those pictures.

The emails that I have gotten from Ethan were around 9:30 am and it's been on days that I was at work.

Man, I wished I would've known about the pay phone, I just sent Ethan a box of stuff and I could've added one. I'll have to get another box together :)

Mamma Mary, my husband has been glued to ESPN for days now. We are excited that Sam Bradford went 1st and that Oklahoma players did well in the draft. My sailor is a baseball fan but his dad is an extreme OU fan.

Dumb question here: My son's address says "PRAR" then his name. I know what the PR means, but what is the "AR"? Airman Recruit? When they do they lose the "Recruit"? After indoc?

I have been out of touch due to a craft fair at my house today. boy, I am wiped out. Stephanie, what does XD mean? talked to my sailor for a few minutes today also. was good to talk to him. he said pretty much the same stuff.

haven't seen the news in days, so didn't know about the severe weather. will pray for you all. we had lots of rain on Thursday so it is going across the country I guess.

dollylaffin- my B-day was/is old news...no pun intended. Guess I have to get over it that my son didn't call or anything. Sorry to sound like a whiney-pants.

MamaMary, I guess I never thought about that with the food. I may send him hot sauce or something so he can spice it up some. He will eat just about anything, bootcamp proved that. He said he ate vegetables he hadn't ever heard of. haha He knows it's healthy food so he is good with it. Just not his mama's cooking.

I've been cooking for the school's basketball and baseball teams for playoffs for years. Spaghetti at my house on Wednesday before Districts and Regionals now for since about the year 2000. In fact, all my kids are out of school and guess what I'm doing this Wednesday? Spaghetti at my house. Everyone is invited.

Lynn, when he came home after A school and was heading to SD, he bought his car and I had to send him his tag and his W2. I overnighted it mailed it priority thru the USPS and they said they couldn't guarantee it but that it would be there in at least a week. It took 3 weeks for him to get it and the next thing I sent took 4 days. I mailed him a Valentine card and it came back to me saying there wasn't enough of an address to finish delivery. I was just wondering if the mail was any different once they were on the water. My sailor is stationed in San Diego and is an AM with a helo squadron. He said his address would always be the same whether on land or water. I bet your son will enjoy his blob, if he ever gets it.

Welcome Lorraine! I'm new to this group also so I guess I'm still wiggling to fit in. haha dollyslaffin, you are cracking me up lol I received another email today. My sailor said he got lost a couple times the first night on the ship. He said there were too many passageways. Food wasn't as good as San Diego but there was a lot of it. I'm mailing him some stuff today and of course it has some of his favorite snacks in it, along with a newspaper and his camera. He said he didn't think he would need it since he has a good camera on his phone but no phone means no camera. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive packages when they are on the ship?
