boy that sounds good Dolly. I am finishing up some strawberry shortcake for lunch. I bake shortcake and pour milk over it and the berries. yummy! that is one of my comfort foods.

having a craft fair here tomorrow, so I best get to finish rearranging my house.

Dolly, thanks for the support! HOpe you ladies all ate some ice cream.

me too. I hear from my son pretty regular. this morning it was 2 words "hello there" which at least lets me know he's still on the ship and didn't fall overboard.
hhaha.
I write back a news email of everyday things. When he was deployed 2 years ago, I wrote every night before going to bed, whether I heard from him or not. He said those emails were a life line to him. He was in a marriage that was going bad fast, so hearing from his mom, made it bearable.

vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and peanuts-that is the my family's best comfort food and one of my mom's favorites. today would've been her birthday. and if I wasn't so full from a staff meeting, I'd go eat some.

better go to bed before the munchies start., have fun LInda and sing beautifully!

haha dollyslaffn, How true that is. Some of the stuff that comes thru just makes me scratch my head sometimes.

I think someone had posted that there are as many people on the ship as in their home town. WELL, we live in a small rural community and our population is about 500. Yes 500 in the whole community. My sailor graduated with 17 other kids and I know all of them personally. The kids here know that if they do something good or bad that everyone in town will call their parents.

Well, I do have ice cream in the freezer and I think it is calling my name. You ladies have a great evening. I get to go see my granddaughter in the morning :-)

Well, I checked my email folders and I had received an email from Ethan today and it went into the junk folder. Hello email people, that's not junk.

He said the flight deck was a rush and it was really noisy compared to their helos. At least now I know that he is well.

I'm up for a movie and ice cream. lol

I was wondering about why I hadn't received any word from my son. Thanks for letting me know. Tell your sailor 'thank you' for keeping us all posted. lol

Did anyone see the video of the Lincoln about Green Day? Interesting stuff that they do to keep the ship recycling and stuff. They impressed some folks that went to see how it was all done.

wow, you are getting close! sounds good that you are getting it ready to go. We will wait on him then. Is he on the ship or at the base?
