Stephanie, I have been wondering where you were. Are you feeling okay? Have been praying for you.

Any news from the PAO and the pillowcase project. Time is slipping away and perhaps we should consider something smaller for Christmas. I have been chatting with Pat, the mom from the Nimitz. Her group is doing the Truman this year and they are well into their planning. She is an invaluable resource for information.

The ship has about 3000 personnel and when the airwings arrive the numbers swell to 5-6000. The support personnel for the airwings are already on-at least my son's is. They are waiting for the planes.

Welcome Kim! So glad that you found us. She is one of my awesome HAE crew members. We've been chatting for months on that page and just found our sons will be on the same ship.

Hi, Ladies! My son is stationed in San Diego but will be on the Lincoln for awhile with his squadron. He is an AM and works on helicopters.

This will be his first trip on a ship. Any info would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks Sue for telling me about this group.

Thanks for posting the web cam links. I've never used them. I'm not sure if I'll be able to catch them coming or going, but I hope so.Does someone usually post a message when they can see the ship come in? Can you see the ship the entire time it is in either port? My brother lives in San Diego and works on North Island, so my son was able to see family the last time they were there. In fact, the ship was about 1 1/2 blocks from my brothers office.
My son was able to get into the barracks after the ship got out of the yard. Good thing too! He bought a snowboard and was able to go snowboarding several times this spring. I received an email today from him.He said he was getting used to his schedule of very little sleep. He also shaved his head. He makes me laugh.

Yes, I do talk in sewing or cooking terms. the other day at one of the schools I work at, I refered to the groups of kids I was working with as a "batch". one real smart little boy, looked at me so indignatly and said "I am not a batch, like a batch of pancakes". It took all I could do to not howl with laughter or have an epizoodic.

thanks for the links ladies and Martyzmom for the personal one.

Dolly, love your tales and I have cracked up by myself in a store. and people do look at you a bit odd. Now I am going to say that I am having an epizoodic-of course I still can't figure out how to say it, so that should really scare them haha!

Hey Linda, you did better than me. I haven't figured out how to find the webcam thingy. I know there was a link posted, but didn't want to look in back pages for it.

Hey, could a mom make a link thread? that would be so cool and would help us other moms who can be challeneged with the computer!

Lorraine, welcome. Sorry no info on the barracks, my son lives off base.

Stephanie Alice has taken that project on. check the pillowcase thread for the most current information which is from March. She was waiting for someone from the base to get in touch with her.,

great picture M Mary! I was out this morning and really didn't have any idea when to look or where for that matter.
LInda, love the photo of you and your handsome sailor in front of those big numbers!

N4M started about 2 years ago when the Lincoln was deployed but I didn't know about it until after the cruise was done! This is better.
