Love the pictures Linda and the video Mary. both bring back great memories!
Dolly, you are right, we are not supposed to post deployement dates. I sure don't want my son in danger and know none of us do. We get excited and want to share. But we have to do that with wisdom and discernment.

I think the chicken dance is played at every wedding I go to. I'm from Milwaukee and that, plus the polka are really big there.

What a beautiful picture and congrats on your anniversary!

As far as the webcam goes, it's not like you went to the ports and put them up. It's a public thing and you are able to see the ships. I'll be looking once my son gets back on the ship.

The scoop the CS is holding up, holds 72 oz! And in the really dark one, we are standing next to the mixer.

Cheryle, you have an approximate idea of when it will deploy again, so figure 7-9 months out from then. It's at the end of a ship's deployment and on their way home. If you have a son, then you will need a female co-sponsor too. Mine was a girl in son's shop.

there really wasn't any feeling of movement when we were out to sea. I am not a water fan and was really scared to go on the TC, BUT I had many people praying for me. And my fear vanished and I wasn't sick at all.
I will say this, it's alot of stairs to get up to the hangar bay. So wear comfortable and closed toed shoes.

Linda, I was in one of the smaller galley's and the equipment was huge! I got 2 pictures, but I didn't know how to work the flash so they aren't too clear. But here they are:

And here is one more thing you do on TC. You fall asleep anytime in get in one of the comfy chairs in the squadron's ready room! yes, I am asleep. Wasn't that nice of my son to take my picture?

And that was the 1st day out-cause I am wearing a red shirt for Red shirt Friday and I was already tired! But I loved it all.

me too Dolly! everywhere I went on the ship, I'd say "thank you for your service". the sailors would just grin. And that's how I got my private tour of a galley. I stopped a CS in the galley, thanked him and asked if tours would be given. And he said no, they are just too busy but he could do one for me. Gosh, what a nice young man. And then when we set the time for it, it would take place as the beginning of the airshow and he was shocked that I would miss that. I said "you do such an important job and I want to see your work space so I can appreciate your hard work." And I said besides, I'd rather see them land than take off.
There was only a small window of time that he could give me-at the end of the shift and the start of the next cooking, so I took what he offered and was blessed in the bargain!

Hey, Linda, you go ahead on brag on your day! I still brag about the Tiger Cruise and I did that in Oct of 2008! It was the experience of a lifetime and I encourage everyone to take it if you can.

It was funny before we went. For months, people would say "why don't you take a cruise first to get an idea about the water/" I am not a water fan. And I said "I'm waiting for the ulitmate cruise and don't want to spoil it with other ones." And it was the ultimate cruise.

One lady said in snotty tone to me "what makes you so special that you get to do that?" Ohhhh, them's fighting words. haha I smugly said "I am the sailor's mom." What a great thing to be!

LInda, sounds like a wonderful day! You definitely have to do the TIGGER cruise cause it is awesome! what are aplets/cotlets and vanilla challa? sounds good whatever it is. And I know the sailors will love it.

I got a personal tour of one of the galleys while on the ship. I, too, wanted to cook with them. I even brought my apron along. But I couldn't-shucks!

Chris, would you be able to do a tiger cruise?

And CSmom, I am so glad to hear your daughter got a lower rack. I kept trying to imagine her standing on those foot hold things trying to open her rack. Those things are heavy! My sponsor was a tall girl and she'd stand on those foot things and open it no problem. not so me, who is also short.

Thanks everyone. Well, I deleted my first comment in case there was something in it bad, like I said this is my first time so I apologize for posting anything I was not suppose too. I hate that there are such "evil" as you said Mamma Mary. Guess we'll just have to hear rumors for now and get further information when we get it! Martyzmom I am in Biloxi, been here my whole life! Ready to experience life up North when we make the move to WA!
