Hi moms!  Long time no write!  LOL  My daughter is adjusting quite nicely to Norfolk since being back.  She was in a cool apartment complex in Hampton for a bit with a friend, but she is now in the barracks.  Luckily her roomie is a friend and in her same department.  When they're in the barracks is there address still the ship with new zip - FPO, AE 09520-2872?

I get to go see my daughter over Thanksgiving break.  I'm super excited.  Also excited because I travel enough for work that I had enough miles for free flights!!  Whoohooo!  Only had to pay $10 in taxes!  That makes it even better!!

Thanks Yvonne! how sweet of you sincerely:) my son hasnt been bored to much at least not on the weekends. he complained about the traffic on certain days some are good and some not so much.he went to wash cloths last night and was telling me the washers are just a few doors down.he said its the ones that wash and dry in the same machine he liked that.he is on the 3rd floor and said it seems to be a lot of Sailors from the Abe on that floor.I will have to ask him what his building is called and exactly where it is. he seems to like it there...thanks again:)

Clamom those arent too far from me. :) Idk if she is 21 or not but there is a bar up there called Checkered Flag its really decently priced and veteran owned! The owners are there a lot and super nice and introduce themselves. They have free UFC nights and football games too :)

To carebear and any others,

If your sailor son or any other sailor sons or daughters are not in an apt. and are bored, we would like to invite them into our home for food and games, etc.  We have a home away from home in our home and we even let the sailors cook for us if they want to! :)  one of our female sailors who comes over on the weekends made chili for us and another sailor who came over. it was yummy. ;)  i love to cook but I don't mind sharing my kitchen.  ;D  We live in Virginia Beach, but it's not that far from where they are.  Just let us know if any are interested.  yvonne

Meagan they live in Heather Lakes.  She likes it. And the fact that its all inclusive, so they pay 1 bill for everything.
