Louise, the thing your recruit needs, is mail, and LOTS of it! It will vary on their divisional CO's as to what reaction your recruit will receive from pictures, musical cards and the like, but most of them are enjoyed. As my son had put it, "going to mail call,nothing is worse than Not receiving anything, like taking a kid to a candy store and letting him look at all the bins but not able to take a bite"!! So write him, send him anything! Even the boring stuff has a whole new light to your recruit! Don't expect a lot back, they are very busy, and tired, and can only mail on on Sundays. They can GET mail every day tho. Do you know yet if your son is a grad n' go? They would not have alot of time after graduating because they will leave to their next duty or school. If they stay in GL, you may have time with them that weekend. So much depends on where they go, what "rate" (my bad, I didn't define that one earlier!) they are in, etc. I know the SDC's here can and will give you MUCH better info than I, just thought that since we missed the "rush" earlier, and you may have a bit of news to help ease the thoughts for you tonite...congrats, we are all here along with ya!

Wow! I go work a 15 hr shift, come back and have a book to read! And it isn't even yours yet Will! Still waiting to hear about the "publishing" date, so I can take a day off work, curl up with the next best seller, and sip the ole camomile tea! Thanks for answering marthab questions, one to depend on me to help anyway..well, may take a day or year! All you new ladies, congrats on your sailors or soon to be ones! Believe you me, I am still learning from you, and I've been here close to a year! Good nite Ya'all! :0}

William, thank you for the detailed info about SWCC. It is more than my son told me ( he didn't want me to worry??) I like all the details. My other question was: where do they go and what do they do before A school starts in May? His PIR is 3/20. Div 818. ship 4.
