bobbie, don't worry they will keep your Sailor busy. He will be busy with extra duty and watch so that he can have Phase 2 Liberty.  There are 3 phases of Liberty that your son will be working towards earning. He will have to earn Phase 2 liberty if he wants to leave base.  There is also an exam he has to study for. It has everything he learned in boot camp.

The first week there is INDOC week. (indoctrination) During this week he will learn the rules of the base and so on. It will be little while before he gets use to not being in boot camp, LoL

deedees473, As soon as he moves to (A)school he will know his address and you can mail him his Cell Phone, and Laptop.  My son called the third day he was there and asked us to mail him his stuff. He ended up buying a new Laptop from the NEX.

When mailing anything to your son in (A)school. Don't forget to include the Last 4 digits of his Social Security Number.  There are thousands of Sailors on base and some might have your the same name as your son.

He can't wear his civilian clothes for a few weeks, but probably would enjoy sleep pants, boxers or shorts to lounge in in his room.  He can have his cell phone.  If he is flying out, you can give him these things at the airport.

My son entered A School on Aug 1st to study to become an electrician.  Last night, he text me that he had been offered a position in special forces.  My mind is reeling.  Is there a specific website that can give me (and him) a better understanding of special forces options.

thank you she went in undesignated so I don't know her job yet bu ti guess she should write me soon to find out.  thank you both as soon as I get her job I will be in touch anti_m

If you know their rate (job), we know where the school is.  Every rate has only one A school, and even programs such as AECF will have only one location for their A school.
