Roni...lol lol Maybe that would make the "Top Guns" sweat to try to find me a "keel" from 01-09-09, Divn. 058. Or a phone number where I could call to order one or a website??? Thanks anyone who can help.... Good night all.

Jeepers, Roni...you must live on this website!! lmao I was just going to answer Theresa about the "keel" but you beat me to it..I wasn't lucky enough to get one and sure wish I could get one now. The "keel" went to Michael's dad and step-mom so this side of the family didn't get one. I'm still waiting for his dad to send me a pic of him in his Navy uniform....
Theresa...congrats on your wonderful news!!! Take care all and HAGN...got to go watch "Dancing With the Stars"

I have a question; I hope it can be answered on here. Michael joined under the Delayed Entry Program and I noticed on his Navy ID card that there is "Ship Date of 081112." Can anyone tell me what that date means? Thanks bunches and bear with me as I'm still learning. :-)

Kelly - I know the USS Porter where my grandson is has a refrig and microwave and I believe they are allowed food there. He shares his living quarters with 4 other sailors. I do not know about the other "ships".....

Happy Monday to all...I'm a little late joining you today...and a HUGE WELCOME to our two new members..making us 92 in total...

Kathleen - until a better answer comes from our "Top Guns" my grandson PIR on 01-09-09; has completed his SCC training; and has been on hold since approximately 02-11-09 at the GL facility for ATT, then on to A school to be a GM (Gunners Mate).

Hoppi & Will. Could you please explain in layman's terms exactly how the food allowance works? They get the monies, but if they eat at the galley just once or twice they take the monies back? So if they get the monies and do not eat at the galley they get to keep it all? I just can't wrap my little brain around this policy. So the more detail the better for me. Thanks
