My son is in A School sndcwont share anything. Didn’t face time us on Thanksgiving, doesn’t text or call...He did tell me that they don’t have room for him and all he does is clean the ship.

Smoothsaililng-We must be living the same life because ALL of my boys are that exact same way! My older 2 are married and I have to sometimes call my daughter in laws to get detailed information...

Ok can this be a conversation: my son gives me one word text message answers or leaves me on read, or leaves me on delivered, and get this didn’t walk to the post office to get the snacks I mailed him. I asked him to go out for thanksgiving dinner with the family in Chicago and he said, thanks no thanks.

LOL. I’m actually super proud of how independent he is being and take all the above as a good sign- maybe he’s nesting.

Somerset08, I’m glad I’m not alone!

Thanks Stbl! I too have had a hard time getting answers from my son...

Somerset08, my sailor graduated 10/19 and is on hold until after the holidays but is in ATT right now. She also has leave for the holidays. Sounds like we have the same information.  I’ve had a hard time getting answers from her.

LOL!! I appreciate the help as always! He did request leave but he said that they were delaying his start of A school because the instructors were going to be gone over the holidays so he won't actually start until after Jan 6th.

Comment by Smoothsailing on November 25, 2018 at 6:15pm

How’s that for a help- no help answer? :)

Comment by Smoothsailing on November 25, 2018 at 6:10pm

So he probably requested leave over Christmas. Did he mention coming home? Has he started classes for A school? My understanding is that they will have at least  two weeks away from class work over the Christmas holiday season.

One of the admins will answer you better soon. Phoenix usually jumps on line on Sunday evenings.
